Hello,

I know the general rule is not to limp in any scenario, but I find this a leak which is hard for me to get out of my game. My plan for 2016 was to not limp anymore but I already did it again :f_tongue:

I find them hard to raise when I'm in the SB because OOP en multiple limpers before me and I get good odds to see a flop

here are the 3 hands out of 1700 : can we limp here or should we raise or fold

I think 1 & 2 are okayu but the 3rd I should have raised to 5BB

Limping behind when there are allready other limpers is just fine, especially when you're in the SB. Blowing up the pot OOP is just not smart as is folding a decent hand with such odds.

When there are bad players in the pot, which is often the case with limpers it is very profitable to see a flop because you will most likely outplay them postflop.

I think It is fine to complete on the small blind when one or more players have already limped the pot before It was your turn with hands like the ones you mention above. I would also consider limping in late positions when at leats someone else have already limped the pot with hands like pocket pairs, suited connector and gap suited connectors.

Hi,

Same as lefty & macqas,

Open limp is definitely not a good habit, but Over limp with very good odd or high playability hands is totally ok

Sometimes it is ok. I guess that 44 hand is fine.. That A8s I would definitely raise.

I agree with la551, the A8 is a defo a raise. Other than that over limping in these situation is fine.

Nothing wrong with overlimping. Where to draw the line is a matter of taste. I'd limp all three hands myself.

Agreed.

That said, here we should distinguish between overlimping and completing the SB. I'd probably raise all three of these hands if I were on the button facing 1+ limpers.

I don't mind all three hands as played. Sometimes I might raise the A8s but that's neither here nor there.

It is not a mistake to overlimp or complete the SB with limpers in front as long as you don't go broke lightly postflop. By limping you and everyone else is trying to catch a cheap monster - so any postflop action should reflect that. Continue with monsters and fold TP / overpairs / 2 pair very light.
