in the micros i just check fold most draw heavy boards if i did not hit anything, i will most certainly get check raised more often than not if i cbet or get a floater.
the other boards, i cbet depending on opponents fold to flop cbet.
if someone fights back, just make sure you have the nuts during showdown.
imo I would c bet 1 opp if checked to me raise if out off position, and fold to a tag i if they raised, if more than 1 opp then I'd check behind and take a free card. u just have to take ur opp's and board texture into consideration when u make ur decision.
I don't know what it is like on all sites ..
But on iPoker up to NL10 I found that a lot of fish (and nitty regs) will call a high percentage of flop cbets, but frequently fold if you fire again on the turn.

nl4 - 32437 hands, flop cbet - 83.0%, flop cbet success - 46.3%
nl10 - 4201 hands, flop cbet - 83.1%, flop cbet success - 50.9%
imo cbet works ^__^
if people are calling everything at a micros table you might wanna consider playing tighter. Perhaps play only premium hand for an hour just to get them to settle down.

My cbet success rate has gone up a lot lately. I think I've gotten the hang of things. I think you say something very true which I also concluded, if you think you're ahead despite getting your cbet called continue betting, most will fold on the turn, and some even on the river. I think this also works well for low pairs when you think your opponent didn't hit, keep betting, getting a cbet called doesn't mean much on this level, so it's not a reason to not continue betting if you think you've got a good read on what villain might be holding.
