Hi seacat,

Yes, I believe those open raises are better at 10nl FR.

First, your UTG range is stronger and you don't want to give great prices to multiway pots so we open larger. You can even make it 4x.

Second, on the BTN, we steal a lot (and I steal a lot more than your average 10nl reg). So a smaller steal, 2x or 2.5x gives us a better price and allows us to steal more hands.

The homework looks good,

For the last question I wouldn't raise to "keep him in line" as that's not really a reason behind betting.

We can raise for value for example which would have a side effect of potentially keeping him in line (because really you can't control that and you won't really know if he will actually be in line or not).
