well, i reviewed my game. I found some bad spots. But normal as any other players would find and that is how players evolve. the main reason is the worst run i have ever seen =( i am playing lowish limits and I am running like 40-60bis under ev.

it is like seting to loose. =( it is unbelievible . i come with aces i 3 bet and villain makes a huge bluff and hit the set on river .

is poker heaven rigged? is it even safe to play? because man i never saw that =( it is impossible. f#$% THAT. i cant believe man. i just cant eleive. look at the graphs. they are like. OMG. that boy is in truble. he was cursed when he was born.

yeah. i cant thnik any other thing. i see myelf with a positive edge over the field and than I get crushed by weak tags/ lags fishes. yeah =(

my mind is cracked. So is my mood. WTF MAN. this is not right =(

Good job! Homework #4 Done!

This weeks homework was a bit easier. But the idea of that is to help you go through last weeks stuff if you didn't go through everything. Or either way maybe even read some more articles, watch some videos and of course attend in the coaching. What will also help for your game is the evaluation part of other members hands and of course posting your own hands.

Well, first of all. I really doubt that any poker site is rigged. It doesn't really matter for them that much either who is winning. They are still making rake from any pot. Plus of course they ain't gonna gain much rake from the low-stakes while in high-stakes they gain a lot more. What may help is if you have enough of BR then might try out to play on different sites. It did help me. :)

I can just assure you, that everyone is facing such a run in poker. Nobody will ever be able to avoid it, I repeat NEVER! Just the question is how everyone adjust to such beats. :) How do you take them, how do you beat them. You are gonna start to think only of the losses and the bad beats you just start to loose even more money.

For example as I took a look at the hands which you posted. Although I'd rather have them in the HE forums and please could you next time do that. :) I am still gonna threw a comment.

Hand #1
Preflop: Why do you 3bet in 1st place? I am pretty sure you didn't even know that much the opponent. Your Ace will be way too often dominated, you can only hope for the fold equity. But against UTG range, not really good idea.

As played
Postflop: Well, basically rather bet it normally and might even gain normal fold equity. You practically just invite him to bluff against you. And obviously on turn you don't beat much anymore. Even your equity ain't gonna be very good against something like TT+. We would need ~26% equity to make it even break-even Call. Against something like TT+ we might get something 30% so it's near break-even since I didn't exclude the rake. But mainly was preflop pretty horrible. While the opponent even seems to be pretty loose.

Hand #2
Well, what do you beat there? Mainly only JJ and that's pretty much it. :(

Trust me, that the only thing in those spots you can do is that take few days off and clear your mindset. IGNORE those beats! If you will start to think about them then you will just put yourself into bigger tilt and which will cause you loosing even more money. You have to find a way how it's gonna make to work for you and do understand poker is a matter game of long run only not just some beats. You can't win always in poker.

Hopefully this wasn't too easy homework for you. Some more points earned.

The opponent was LAG that likes to call whe facing 3bet. He usually likes to float. So I thought that bet / bet would me much better.

HAND#2

i GUESS he can go for it with all top pairs or flush draw. he was a super maniac fish.

WEEK 5

Question 1: Post a hand for evaluation where you have based your decisions on the stats of your opponents.
NL50SH COLD 4bet from LAG villain

Question 2: Evaluate one of the hands submitted by other members

Nl20 Sh Kk

Question 3: Consider the following situation:

1- I would raise it right away. Although our hand may be obivous we still have to protect our hand from other :diamond: . Bad players may call without the apropriate odds for flsuh draw or straight draw.

Question 4:

I guess this is a situation Way a head / way behind . I am not check raising because he will fold his worst hands and call the good ones. So I am calling flop and evaluate turn.

Well, that's especially the reason why I wouldn't 3bet in first place.
a) Against that kind of opponent we will rarely see a fold vs our 3bet. -> not the most profitable way while the profit from such hands comes either making them fold preflop or postflop.
b) He likes to float a lot. -> we can't make him fold which is the 2nd problem why we can't play the hands profitable.

My option:
a) If he is very loose guy then why not to play it postflop with just Calling? If you expect him to pay you very often then it's even very likely that he will pay you.
b) Just fold the hand which is the most safest play while also being OOP, will be hard to extract value from him.

i GUESS he can go for it with all top pairs or flush draw. he was a super maniac fish.

For that given reason seems to be fine. :)

Good Job! Homework #5 Done!

About Task #3
It's a very close decision: does protection or pot control weigh heavier here? Do you want to protect against hands like 3x or A:dx and K:dx? Or do you want to control the pot size and try to induce a bluff on the river in case there is no T, no J and no additional ?

Raise/fold is out of question - with the given pot size and the good made hand you have, it can't even be considered.

In case you decide to go broke, you can't really be blamed either. It's not a sign of weakness that the rather tight small blind decides to bet into two people here, though. I would say a call is to be slightly favored, while the many outs against you are annoying. The big blind who calls rather loosely speaks in favor of a raise/broke again. Both options are finally considered equal, which shows - all things considered - how close and full of variance these spots really are.

About Task #4
You've called pre-flop and then hit a good board. You basically have two choices now: either you assume that your opponent will go broke loosely or puts you on a bluff often and you thus check/raise - or you play check/call in the spirit of way ahead / way behind. The problem with the latter is that there are a lot of cards you don't want to see in the later course of the hand. All in all, it depends on your balancing as both lines make sense under certain circumstances.

A check/fold would be really pointless, of course. It's hard to say whether you should donk-bet here; donk/fold can be discarded as that would turn your hand into a pure bluff and your opponent would interpret this as weakness and start raising you out of flops with hands like AK/AQ/air. So, if you want to donk-bet, it has to be a donk/3-bet.

Good luck on tables and with the School. Some more points earned.

homework 6
Q1:
Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.25(BB) Replayer
SB ($25.87)
Hero ($66.02)
UTG ($14.59)
CO ($22.48)
BTN ($5.93)

Dealt to Hero A♠ 8♥

UTG calls $0.25, fold, BTN calls $0.25, fold, Hero checks

FLOP ($0.87) 4♦ 8♣ 7♣

Hero bets $0.87, UTG folds, BTN calls $0.87

TURN ($2.61) 4♦ 8♣ 7♣ 4♥

Hero bets $2.61, BTN folds

Hero shows A♠ 8♥

Hero wins $2.51

villain was a 70/3/af0.4 in 100 hands.

I guess this is a very standard situation to bet/bet/bet =)

Q2: NL20 SH JJ agains 4bet 3way

Q3:

a calling station rarely is active. and that bet oop multiway indicates a lot of strengh.

pt.pokerstrategy.com
Board: 4dJsAcQh
Equity Vencer Empatar
MP2 28.27% 27.84% 0.43% { QcJh }
MP3 71.73% 71.31% 0.43% { AA, QQ-JJ, 44, AQs-AJs, KTs, Q4s, J4s, AQo-AJo, KTo, Q4o, J4o }

I guess this is his range. So i guess the fold is the right option. I guess in the heat of the moment I wouldnt fold though, because of the lack of time for reflection ^^

Good Job! Homework #6 Done!

About Question #1:
Yeah, we are going to Bet/Bet/Bet there, although I am still not sure if I would do it exactly pot size. :P But of course against station-like player it's totally fine. :)

About Question #3:
Two lines can quickly be discarded here: fold and raise/fold; your hand is simply too strong for those alternatives.

It's hard to assess whether you should put in a raise here. When a rather passive player decides to bet into three players while being out of position, it does look strong. It's more likely an indication of a made hand than that of a draw.

A raise naturally protects, but you run the risk of isolating yourself against very strong range. Which weaker hands could your opponent possibly continue playing here?

The deciding factor finally comes in the size of the pot. This tiny pot simply isn't worth putting yourself into a tough spot where you could potentially end up risking your entire stack. A raise would be overplayed here and pot control takes the precedent over protection.

Best of Luck on tables and with the Course. Some more points earned.

Q1: Nl25 - Tptk Vs Maniac

Q2: NL20 SH KJs 150 bb deep in BTN

Q3
case A
pt.pokerstrategy.com
Board: Qh3h2s
Equity Vencer Empatar
MP2 40.26% 40.26% 0.00% { 5h4h }
MP3 59.74% 59.74% 0.00% { QQ, 33-22 }

IN WORST CASE, we have 40% eq and we have to call 8,6 into 20,4 which gives us 41%. so the call is +ev

case B

I guess I can call here. There is no need to pretection. We have TPTK. if he is betting here, lets induce him bet again on Tunrn again.

Good Job! Homework #7 Done!

About Question #3:
In this case, you decided to bet out yourself and two players behind you go all-in. You would have to invest $8.40 in order to participate in a $22 pot, which corresponds to an equity of 27.63%.

Board: Q:h 3:s 2:h
Dead:

Equity Win DrawLoss Hand
Player 1: 38.538% 38.538% 0.000% 61.462% 5h4h
Player 2: 14.540% 14.540% 0.000% 85.460% QQ+
Player 3: 46.921% 46.921% 0.000% 53.079% 22-33

You get the required odds even when you're exclusively up against very strong hands!

Good luck on tables and with the School. Some more points earned.

a: I am betting turn. I have hand with great value. I stll have to protect against the  .

b: I am folding. I only see him doing it with KK / QQ . all other hands make no sense. even AA he would bet turn again.

Good Job! Homework #8 Done!

About Question #3:
In this case, the right answer is quite obvious. Both AF and WTS speak in favor of a check behind for bluff induce. But your hand is too strong here, so you want to get it all-in on the turn. There are a lot of hands you still have to protect against, too. Playing for bluff induce or pot control would simply be too weak and dangerous.

About Question #4:
About preflop play I'd say that it's still doable while we even are a bit deeper. I expect the hero to play solid postflop play. So Calling is definitely fine here with having 2 opponents in the hand and getting great implied odds. But for more beginners it's deifnitely a very close spot while they ain't gonna be able to laydown weak hands.

As we have the information that CO is a TAG player. Therefore, we expect him to have a strong 3bet range. Unless we have some other information like he has a wide 3bet range. But while we don’t have that, we basically consider his range to be something QQ+, AK or sometimes even tighter.

So now you have to ask yourself what kind of hands would play like this on river? KK may slowplay like this. QQ definitely is as well in his range. AK/AA he wouldn’t play this way since he know himself as well that he isn’t going to get Called by worse hands. So basically it’s up to the nuts most often. You only beat bluff there and I don’t expect the opponent to bluff in this case unless we know the table dynamics better.

Best of luck in exam! Some more points earned.
