Cold-Call filter is for raise pots to find out for example how do you play your Called hands like 76s or whatsoever.

Well, with that kind of BR yep, sure you can try out SH4, obviously you can't play SH10. :)

Trust me, I have a lot of experiences with that case and trying it at higher limits with not correct BRM wont bring you anywhere. :( Get used to follow the BRM or you will just ignore it again on higher limits.

4. - Do the homework: Lesson 8

Question 1: Post a hand for evaluation. (Post your hand in the No Limit: Hand Evaluations board, and provide a link to your hand in your private thread.)

Ak

Question 2: Evaluate one of the hands submitted by other members. ( Choose a hand from the No Limit: Hand Evaluations board and post your own evaluation in the thread. Post a link to the hand you have evaluated in your private thread. You can evaluate as many hands as you want, but try to choose hands not yet evaluated by other users first.)

NL2 - AA: overpair on turn

Question 3: Consider the following situation:

$100 NL Hold'em (9 handed)

Stacks & Stats:
UTG ($100)
UTG+1 ($100)
MP1 ($100)
MP2 ($100)
Hero ($100)
CO ($100)
BU ($100)
SB ($100)
BB ($100) (18/15/3.7/23/732)[VPIP/PFR/AF/WTS/Hands]

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8  , 9
4 folds, Hero raises to $4.00, 3 folds, BB calls $4.00

Flop: ($8.50) 3  , 6  , 8 :diamond: (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $5.50 BB calls $5.50

Turn: ($19.50) J  (2 players)
BB checks, Hero...

What action would you take, and why?

At the turn we made our hand but I will not check it to enduse a bluff because I don’t wanna see one other heart or the board paired! I will bet around 14$ for value and protection

BONUS Question 4 (optional question): Consider the following situation:

$200 NL Hold'em (6 handed)

Stacks & Stats:
MP2 (Hero) ($327.95)
MP3 ($207.45)
CO ($415.55) (TAG)
BU ($373.60) (TAG)
SB ($200.00)
BB ($218.00)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 7  , 8
Hero raises to $7, 1 folds, CO raises to $23, BU calls $23, SB folds, BB folds, Hero calls $16

Flop: ($72) 7 :club: , 8 :spade: , 8 :diamond: (3 players)
Hero checks, CO checks, BU bets $52, Hero calls, CO calls

Turn: ($228) K :diamond: (3 players)
Hero checks, CO checks, BU checks

River: ($228) Q  (3 players)
Hero bets $110, CO raises to $340.55 (All-in), BU folds, Hero?

What factors and concepts that you have learned so far would you use in evaluating this situation? What would your action be?

This hand looks tricky! we got 3bet from a tag and we hit a dream flop! At the turn CO checks this looks a little bit suspicious …
At the river he shoves all in and that looks really strong combined with the turn check ! He could have some AK KK AA maybe KQ
I know that the players at these stakes plays far more tricky than the lower stakes like 3bet far looser with suited connectors or even with trash hands…
On the other side… we have a full house and personally cant fold it! Because I think most of the times we are ahead here… we are losing only to KK or QQ that are very possible but I think we can’t fold this hand
Snap call! :f_cool:

Good Job! Homework #8 Done!

have you ever tried leakbuster ? i have it around 1 year now but never used it

Yeah, I have used it. A lot good filters there. Although overall I wouldn't really base much on the things there. You will really need a lot of hands to get a proper analyze.

About Question #3:
In this case, the right answer is quite obvious. Both AF and WTS speak in favor of a check behind for bluff induce. But your hand is too strong here, so you want to get it all-in on the turn. There are a lot of hands you still have to protect against, too. Playing for bluff induce or pot control would simply be too weak and dangerous.

About Question #4:
About preflop play I'd say that it's still doable while we even are a bit deeper. I expect the hero to play solid postflop play. So Calling is definitely fine here with having 2 opponents in the hand and getting great implied odds. But for more beginners it's deifnitely a very close spot while they ain't gonna be able to laydown weak hands.

As we have the information that CO is a TAG player. Therefore, we expect him to have a strong 3bet range. Unless we have some other information like he has a wide 3bet range. But while we don’t have that, we basically consider his range to be something QQ+, AK or sometimes even tighter.

So now you have to ask yourself what kind of hands would play like this on river? KK may slowplay like this. QQ definitely is as well in his range. AK/AA he wouldn’t play this way since he know himself as well that he isn’t going to get Called by worse hands. So basically it’s up to the nuts most often. You only beat bluff there and I don’t expect the opponent to bluff in this case unless we know the table dynamics better.

Best of luck in exam! Some more points earned.

Yep, just collecting data and trying to write a conclusion. As I am not allowed to write the all answers, it's gonna take some time to review all the parts and spot some mistakes. Most likely by tomorrow.

Good Job! Your exam is done and evaluated!

I would now advice to take a look at the No Limit Advanced Learning path. Which is located here: No Limit Advanced Learning Path. Although it's without any homework but it's still a path which will help you get the understanding of more advanced stuff. Although it may require higher ranks. Some may require even Gold status.

You are still welcome to use this thread for your progress and if you face any questions about your play/stats or anything you want to ask. Also don't hesitate to continue posting hands which I will be most likely evaluating.

About your exam:
You did take the exam really seriously and that's only good since the more seriously you take poker the more likely it will be that you invest enough time into to it to become a good poker player. I did really like the answers of yours. Although of course as most of the students you had also problems with the math tasks, needs still improvement. But well, it's more advanced part so I wouldn't really be worried about that! You did really great overall.

We most likely gonna continue evaluating your hands and of course your overall progress in this thread in future. We still have some leaks to fix.

In future we gonna concentrate more on your hands and try to fix some leaks which. Hopefully you gonna continue posting in the thread. We could take a look at stats and many different kind of things. Maybe even some mindset problem. :)

Do you have any questions about the exam?

Good Luck on the Tables and with the next learning Path. If you have any questions don't hesitate to hop in your Locker Room thread and ask or post your progress.

Well, there were even some basic equilab usage mistakes. For example the 15th question where you did get 69,79% although against 25% stealing range:

       Equity     Win     Tie
UTG    61.68%  61.21%   0.47% { TT }
UTG+1  38.32%  37.86%   0.47% { 66+, A2s+, K6s+, Q8s+, J8s+, T8s+, A7o+, K9o+, QTo+, JTo }

Also for example even the very first equity calculation about 17th question. Which should be actually 37,81% equity needed. I was asked not to go into detailed analyze so others wont be able to see the answers for exams. So unfortunately can't go into detailed analyze.

Well, I guess the advanced path will be right now the more advanced school. But obviously the Locker Room will be for you here. :) I will be around to answer your questions, take a look at graphs/stats etc things.

Well, usually to those who order coaching and have finished Beginners Course I give extra free hours with the order. It's really hard to say how many sessions we would need, it's really up to you how many you would need.

Well, you can continue with the advanced learning path. :) But obviously you are welcome to post here still and ask questions. Not sure yet if there will be some new homework, trying to figure that out soon.

hello veriz i have some questions ...

i keep loosing big pots with good hands all the time!

should i stop 4bet with QQ ? looks like no one is 3betting light at the nlh10...

also what range do you think i must 3bet at this stake ?

i am lossing way to much with QQ in general most of the times in 3bet pot and have flop like T82... should i call a 3bet and fold to any high aggression?...

i run really bad this month i am like -6BI EV

Hello w4terman,

should i stop 4bet with QQ ? looks like no one is 3betting light at the nlh10...

Well, you should always ask against who you are? Is the guy 3betting light? Is the guy capable of going broke with worse? At the best with QQ its' the case that it's anyways a coinflip. At some point I might even just Call vs 3bet while we for example have position. People tend to overplay QQ way too often.

also what range do you think i must 3bet at this stake ?

Well, mostly value-range. But obviously we can even lighten up depends what we playing, either full ring or shorthanded and obviously on the opponents and their stealing ranges. That's really hard to talk with few words since there are many different situations, best way to learn this is to post hands and discuss there with me. :)

i am lossing way to much with QQ in general most of the times in 3bet pot and have flop like T82... should i call a 3bet and fold to any high aggression?...

Well, at some points we even have to fold to nitty 3bet preflop with QQ. At some points we can continue but I wouldn't always play for the stacks on such a board. Just ask yourself what kind of hands do you beat there on such a board which go broke? Just JJ. :(

i run really bad this month i am like -6BI EV

The only thing here to do is to get used to it, that's poker and it will be always like that. At some point you gonna run bad but when you gonna continue thinking of that and not fixing your leaks you gonna just continue loosing more money because of tilt. Mindset has to be strong here and has to be always practiced. Train yourself and remind always what you are doing on tables and that you actually did a correct move. ;)

Best Regards.
