I thought he was doing this to split put as FH had come up so called,

I lost - he was holding a T - I wasn't.
Assuming the pot would have been around 20 cents and his bet 50. I don't see a call of 50 worth a return of 60 considering the chances you'll split.

Just figured it was a bluff as there had been no betting up to the river.
I don't think an 8 would fold. That would be quads and he would have to think you had TT to fold hope this helps
