Most games & stakes you want to raise preflop with decent hands (IP) and premium hands regardless of position (Pos 3b)

But at the micros, most poor players will limp and call raises with any pretty cards eg 9923ds

Whats peoples thoughts on a more passive approach of limping in, just raise the prem hands 10% ?

People call loose so you want to raise tight?

The looser people call the looser you can raise for value = win....

I'm not 100% sure if the OP meant this, but I was hoping for the answer to the question of life, the universe and... erm... to open limp or not to open limp, that is the question ie play open raise/fold preflop, or is open limp/call a reasonable play.

What i mean is people call regardless or odds or dont think "Well, UTG raised and SB 3 bet him he must have AA/KK"

Players look at there hand and think "pretty so call" Now we raise, 5 callers pot is nice and bloated, people are more inclined to call/shove etc.

We could do the same execpt invest a smaller amount, when we hit. We will still get the money.

in a game where nobody folds preflop a lot of your value will come from raising preflop with strong hands. Nothing else to be said really. :f_biggrin:
