I have played plo before and done ok at only the micro stakes (0.01/0.02)
My question is for a relatively new player, would using the Hutchinson point system for plo be a good starting guide in 6 max games, and if so what point requirments would be suitable for all positions?

Simple answer: NO
You can't use any starting hands system in 6max PLO, cos those systems don't understand different situations. In PLO 6max some hands work better in multiway pots and some hands work better in HU pots. Also position affects our starting hands as does our own skills and what type of opponent(s) we have.
So forget all starting hand systems. The only way is to learn the game so you will understand yourself what makes a good hand in different situations and what not.
