Wait till galam gets here, he'll answer it best. Just be patience, elephant still has some bugs, but they will be ironed out.

Is that Titan? If yes there is already a patch out there that fixxes that issues. You can find it here: http://devblog.pokerstrategy.com/ After downloading just extract those files to the Elephant dir.
If its not TItan please send those handhistories to galam@pokerstrategy.com

Just to say: since they upgraded Titan software couple of weeks ago, I am experiencing same problems as OP with the old PT2.
Yes you have to reimport the hands and no no reinstalling postgreSQL. Just go the main menu (the elephant in the upper left corner) and create a new DB in the DB settings. Hope that helps.
