Hey guys a quick question.

I've just gotten myself a new laptop with windows 8 already installed. Any opinions on how stable the new windows are and the compatibility with HM2 and other poker software? Im pretty much a fish when it comes to computers this days so and opinions would be appreciated.

Asus seems to recommend windows 8 but some of my friends kinda dislike them, but then again some of them are still using XP's so im not sure what to make of it. Also the only drivers on the CD i've got with the comp are for windows 8 only so that might be a problem as well if i'll wanna switch.

Well, "under the hood" it's pretty much the same as windows 7, just a bit more optimized. So everything that worked on win7 should work on win8 as well.

I'd go with Windows 8, not because it's "better" (I have no idea), but because it is "newer" and will probably cause less problems in the longer term. For HM2, hardware is more important than software. Is your laptop also used for high speed simulations by NASA? Then it might run HM2 fast as well, though I doubt it.

My first proper experiences with windows 8 were with my gf's new laptop and they were initially good until the thing started freezing and lagging and all sorts of bad sh*t that's not meant to happen with a brand new machine :<

Ofc this could just have been a factory defect and not the software, but yea..

to this day this holds true in all worlds :

win7> xp > win98 > vista > win8
