The Equlilator is very reliable. But what exactly do you mean with someone is playing K8 mor often then TJ? If you adjust a range the equilator might give your opponent not the exactly right range. You need to add or cancel several hands to asjust the range perfectly.

I mean when I choose a 20 procent range, it says k10o but not 10js and I find it hard to believe that people with 20 VPIP would rather play 10ko thn 10js.

Well this range is not based on what people like to play but what has more equity.

If you go allin with KTo against JTs you have an equity edge and that's why Equilator favors KTo over JTs.

I agree with you that people like to call JTs more likely than KTo but you can adjust that easily and if you compare KTo and JTs but take a look what people would raise it should be pretty even again.
