For winner-takes-all I'd generally recommend chipEV, unless you are specifically dealing with very short stacks that are about to be hit by blinds in the next hand(s).
I analyzed with HRC and get this 3bet-call range. (screenshot bellow)
There are bunch of hand with pale green which seems +EV according the "Show EV" , but they are not involved in the 'Show Strategy' matrix.
Could somebody explain it for me?
Hard to say with the limited information from the screenshot, most likely explanation is that these hands are folded in a previous action. e.g. If these hands are not in the opening range then they also won't show up in the calling range against a 3-bet, even if they'd be profitable to call-off when opened.
plexiq: Good point, but it was something else at me. Today i reran the analysis, and fortunately didn't experienced the some problem.
By the way thanks for the superfast answer.
Please try to upload the hand via Hand: Share hand next time you see it, it's much easier to figure these things out when the entire hand is available.
If it wasn't due to previous action then you likely manually edited some ranges and didn't re-adjust the unlocked ranges. If you edit a range then you only change the assigned strategy of that single range. All other ranges will remain fixed, even though their profitability may change due to your edit. To adjust the other ranges you need to re-run a Nash calculation via the green "Run Nash Calculation" button in the toolbar.
Hi plexiq,
Great program.
I love in the beta how we can click and hold in the range viewer to select hands similar to other range building programs.
I noticed though that when I click and hold, it only adds the hands but if you click and hold over the hands again, it doesn't remove them. Can this be added as well?
I hope you get what I mean, if not I can be more specific ![]()
Thanks
You can actually remove by holding the right mouse button. Lmk if that doesn't work.

Amazing thank you!
Hello,
Which of the marked fields do I need to specify when calculating the opening ranges?
With different options i get very different results ![]()

HRC can't solve the full "real" game with all allowed actions, it can only calculate solutions to simplified/restricted games. If you change how the simplified game is defined then most likely the results will also change, so seeing different opening ranges for different game setups is completely normal.
On the page in your screenshot you can define how players are allowed to react to an opening raise. By default they are only allowed to push-or-fold. The fields you marked specify if opponents are allowed to 3/4/5-bet with non all-in sizings, and if they are allowed to flat call the respective raises. When doing full-hand calculations, allowing flat calls or limps is generally not recommended (as outlined in the documentation at Help: Help Content), so the checkboxes on the right side of the dialog should be left unchecked unless you are setting up some specific previous actions.
As for the raise sizes, this depends. In your screenshot all raises except for the initial open need to be all-in. If you want to allow different/additional sizes then you just need to specify that in the corresponding line. If you expect that opponents will mainly push-or-fold against an open then the current setup seems fine.

I really understand that, but I guess, if I know STACK size, BIND size and Opening size, mathematically I can calculate with which cards I can open, with which not. More or less like that.
For e. g. if I have 100 BB, to open from EP with 72o always will be -EV, but with AA always will be +EV. And HRC shows that with any settings. So I would like to know more precise opening bounds. And for different BLIND sizes.
Basically I‘m talking about classical turnament game, where after my opening I can expect FLAT CALLs and 3 BETs, but rarely ALL-INs.

Yes, when I calculate, I set 3-Bet and 4-Bet values (I’m not sure if 4-Bet is needed at all). But most important question I have is about the checkboxes on the right. I get very different result if I check on/off them. I would like to get recommendations which configuration is more likely real time game.
So far from what I have tried, the results with “Allow Flatting of opens” and Allow flatting of 3-Bets” options are more real time game. But I might be wrong.
Thanks a lot.
I don't think there is any way to calculate good, general purpose opening ranges for 100bb in HRC.
As explained in the documentation, HRC uses a very basic Postflop model: It assumes all pots are checked down after the flop. This is not a suitable abstraction for modeling deep-stacked opening ranges, it was never intended to be used for this purpose. HRC is primarily a Preflop calculator and 100bb is way too deep to neglect Postflop play.

Ok I understand that. But then why did you implement such options as: 3-Bet, 4-Bet, 5-Bet(!) Cold-call an Over-cold-call?
You can make all kinds of useful calculations without relying on the Postflop estimates. You can do this by restricting the calculation scope and manually defining some of the ranges.
e.g.:
CO opens (manual range)
BU flats (manual range)
SB fold
BB?
-> Calculate BB push-or-fold range against that open/flat from here, including the optimal call-off ranges for CO/BU.
Hello guys..I want to use HRC for a specific satellite to learn about optimal push/fold situations.I try to make manually calculations about 1.1$ satellite as i start grind this.So i need your help.
It is a 16man tournament,tables are 4max,starting stacks are 500chips,and it gives 2 tickets of 11$.3rd place is taking 0.72$..So manually putting prizes to construct payouts,i did this: 1-2 places:48.41 3rd place:3.16
Is it correct?will it give correct Icm results?i say that because i was practising to a hand that its awkward.
last 3 people left(2 takes the ticket and 3rd half his buy in) and we have the following hand..
PokerStars - 50/100 Ante 20 NL (4 max) - Holdem - 3 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4
Hero (BTN): 13 BB
SB: 3.25 BB (VPIP: 38.89, PFR: 36.36, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 58)
BB: 3.75 BB (VPIP: 18.18, PFR: 25.00, 3Bet Preflop: -, Hands: 11)
3 players post ante of 0.2 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB
Pre Flop: (pot: 2.1 BB) Hero has J♦ 6♥
fold, SB raises to 3.05 BB and is all-in, fold
Spoiler
SB wins 2.6 BB
Running it,to see whats my shoving range in this spot it shows me that my shoving range is 0%..i can't shove neither aces as all the range is red and -EV!where is the mistake?can you help me please?
This looks fine, yes. Folding and having the blinds go all-in against each other seems better than picking up the blinds, at least in a plain ICM calculation. FGS might get you different results though.
Hello,
i try actually the HRC testversion. In the Basic Hands there are ranges from HRC but in the advanced Hand the ranges are always empty (0%). Is this OK?
Thanks
Alex
Yes, that's normal. If you restrict actions on the last dialog page then you need to manually define ranges for those actions. If you want the ranges automatically calculated then simply skip that last dialog page. You can find more info in the Advanced Hand section of Help: Help Contents.
I want to buy ur soft using skrill moneybookers virtual prepaid card but i can't. Wrote to support 2 days ago and still no answer. I don't have $ credit card and pay pal if there are any other payment methods available?
The virtual cards from Skrill should work fine, just make sure you enter the correct name / address - otherwise the transaction might be declined during risk analysis. If you still have troubles then try the non recurring 18-month license, might be that you can't buy recurring licenses with a prepaid card.
