what does ")))" mean?

I've seen it typed a few times and can't find out what it means anywhere?! Can someone please enlighten me?

Hi poker880888,

On it's own it doesn't mean a lot, just three 'parentheses' if memory serves.

In Mathematics or computer programming it could be one end of a nested equation.

At the end of a sentence it could just be :):):), which may represent three smiley faces , indicating the writer was pleased about something either they or someone else had written or said.

Apart from that, I can't think of anything else they may be at the moment.

I've always associated it with a Smiley face. Its usually Players that arn't native English, something to do with their keyboard that its easier to do ))) that :) ? :f_biggrin:

This is a russian smileyface.

I discovered this smiley after acquiring female russian friends. In combination with bad vocabulary a sentence often finished with the occassional )).

The amount of ")" simply signifies if it is "nice" "funny" "exciting".

It is just another version of :) with the assumed colon.
