A small update:

After trying a couple of rooms I decided to play at Stars for now. Like the software and there is plenty of fish on NL2. I also have an small roll on WPT Poker so sometimes I shall play there. But to keep this blog clean I only post graphs or sessionresults of Stars.

Also decided to stay with shorthanded. If you're used to this play it's not a good idea to move back to fullring. It's too nitty.......it almost getting me on tilt so nitty.

On saturday (10-03) I've deposited $30 and started to play NL2. On this moment I've almost played 3k hands in 5 sessions and my roll is growing. First 2 sessions I got a nice winrate but the 3th and 4th didn't end positive. KK against AA, beat by a J2o which hit a straight on a A345board and all sort of things like that. Yesterday I again played a session and I was up again. At some point I was 5BI up which is a huge profit for me. _biggrin: Then an aggro-fish who was raising and 3-betting a lot raises my TT................and he has AA. _cry:

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players

Hero (CO): $4.07 (203.5 bb)
BTN: $7.11 (355.5 bb)
SB: $2.24 (112 bb)
BB: $2.15 (107.5 bb)
MP: $2.79 (139.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with T T
MP raises to $0.08, Hero raises to $0.24, 3 folds, MP raises to $0.48, Hero raises to $4.07 and is all-in, MP calls $2.31 and is all-in

Flop: ($5.61) Q 8 K (2 players, 2 are all-in)
Turn: ($5.61) 4 (2 players, 2 are all-in)
River: ($5.61) 6 (2 players, 2 are all-in)

Results: $5.61 pot ($0.20 rake)
Final Board: Q 8 K 4 6
Hero showed T T and lost (-$2.79 net)
MP showed A A and won $5.41 ($2.62 net)

But over the whole session is was up for $6,64 with a winrate of 53,98/100. Resulting in a bankroll of $38,64 and overall winrate 13.59/100 not bad at all. _cool:

With my blogging restart I also will add some new goals:

:spade: Complete beginners course (currently at lesson 7)
 Study all bronze and silver documents
:diamond: Watch and study some (at least 2) coachingvideos every week.
:club: Move up!!!! I'm moving up when I've 25BI and down with 20BI.
:spade: Get a sample before I post some graphs and stats.

If someone has tips which video to watch just put it here. Atm I'm watching crushing NL50.

See that I didn’t update my blog here for a while. Think because I was very busy updating my blog in the Dutch section. First a update how things went after the last update:

First I tried to play on Pokerstars NL2 and ZOOM but this was not very succesfull. Specially ZOOM because I lost here several buyins. My bankroll on Stars dropped near to $30,-. At this point I realized me that I’m a big fish on ZOOM and decided that I don’t play this anymore. This was around the period that PS introduced the HEM2 offer. I also decided that my roll (Stars + Neteller) is big enough to play NL5. Those 2 decisions had a big (positive) impact on my game. In a week I played around 4,5k hands and had a winrate over 37bb/100!!! I don’t like posting graphs without having a good sample but if I take in mind my sample on Betfair (15k hands with winrate around 12 bb/100) I’m really satisfied with my progress. Here is the graph:

Spent last week to study on my preflop game. That is the key I think for a good solid game. First I played with a SHC but I don’t use it anymore!!! 3- and 4-betting makes more sense to me. Try to think in ranges already preflop. Why I do 3-bet villain x with AQ and don’t 3-bet villain y. My preflop stats are now V:18.6/P:17.1/3b:6 which I’m very satisfied with. But it still at the micros so I must keep improving.

And I know my postflop skills still suck and this is the next thing I’m gonna work on. First area to improve is cbetting I now cbet around 80% this was over 90%.and is way too high. I’m now learning on floptextures, which board is good for cbetting and why do I cbet. Next step is when to play aggressive and when passive, odds and outs, etc.

Every day I try to read at least one article on the subject I’m learning and I repeat this until I get this. Also try to watch 2 videos that are related to the subject in one week. Can be the same video that I watch twice. Think that repeating is the key to succeed. Watching or reading more gives an overkill to me and I don’t use the things I learned in a good way.

Also a very important thing is that I have a mindset that’s solid as a house. I (almost) never tilt on a pokertable. If I lose I lose and if I win I win. Last thing is nice the first is not so nice but I don’t tilt and only think that I will win it back if I keep playing my A-game. To improve my mindset even more I ordered Tommy Angelos book: Element of Poker. Also want to take a look at DC for his mindset serie which seem to be great. I think mindset is the most important thing in poker, especially at the micros where fish gives you a lot of badbeats.

Long story but I try to keep this blog alive. Hope you all appreciate it, read it on a regular base and post sometimes a comment that I stay motivated.

Just played a very short session of 301 hands. Not feeling great have a sore throat so I quit. But again I gone up for a little more than 1 BI so still running hot!!! Also got a bonus from Stars so my bankroll grows and grows. If everything stays this way I'm soon gonna move to NL10!!!

Some hands I had today:

I c/c because villain seems a little agressive. Not a big sample but he played 41/29. Should I raise the turn and/or bet the river for value. I was planning to play check/call again.

Poker Stars, $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

Hero (UTG): $5 (100 bb)
MP: $5.07 (101.4 bb)
CO: $4.40 (88 bb)
BTN: $4.83 (96.6 bb)
SB: $10.01 (200.2 bb)
BB: $5.11 (102.2 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A Q
Hero raises to $0.20, MP folds, CO raises to $0.35, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.15

Flop: ($0.77) 6 7 A (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.30, Hero calls $0.30

Turn: ($1.37) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $1.15, Hero calls $1.15

River: ($3.67) 3 (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks

Here again a hand that I play check/call. Villain was a bit lag 29/24 but again a very small sample. I think if I raise flop I show too much strenght and villain wil fold.

Poker Stars, $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

BTN: $5.16 (103.2 bb)
SB: $5.33 (106.6 bb)
Hero (BB): $5.14 (102.8 bb)
UTG: $3.89 (77.8 bb)
MP: $4.71 (94.2 bb)
CO: $5.20 (104 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A 5
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.15, SB folds, Hero raises to $0.45, BTN calls $0.30

Flop: ($0.92) 5 5 7 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.66, Hero calls $0.66

Turn: ($2.24) T (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $1.07, Hero calls $1.07

River: ($4.38) 2 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $2.98 and is all-in, Hero calls $2.96

Results: $10.30 pot ($0.43 rake)

A very bad played hand. Think I should bet the flop IP and fold to a raise or the turn here.

Poker Stars, $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

UTG: $7.42 (148.4 bb)
MP: $7.50 (150 bb)
Hero (CO): $5 (100 bb)
BTN: $8.53 (170.6 bb)
SB: $9.73 (194.6 bb)
BB: $1.30 (26 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q A
UTG raises to $0.10, MP folds, Hero calls $0.10, BTN folds, SB calls $0.08, BB calls $0.05

Flop: ($0.40) 8 6 J (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($0.40) T (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets $0.20, UTG folds, Hero calls $0.20, SB folds

River: ($0.80) Q (2 players)
BB bets $1 and is all-in, Hero calls $1

Results: $2.80 pot ($0.12 rake)
