Hey mate,

I think in this last hand you can even make it a little bigger, like $10 - $11.

He most likely has a draw on the flop, and because you checked the turn, you range looks weak as well. I think that he will still call his whole calling range for this amount (there is a decent chance you have a busted draw as well!)

You are absolutely correct. Didn't think this through when playing and most likely I will miss lots of value in these spots.

Haven't played online since last week, but played ~14h of live poker in Tallinn Reval Park Casino & Hotel last weekend. Skipped tournament (sold to my friend 50/50) because friday evening 2/2 PLO seemed so much more fun and I decided to play cash games only. Ended up like 500e or so, but could have done much better (without these bad plays could have been up 1.2k or so). Made some bad river calls and ended up getting it in bad couple of times, but ended up eventually from both nights. Weird how I usually do much better in bigger live games than smaller online games. I guess those dynamics suits me better: more time to think, people playing looser and lots of multiway pots where there is not much bluffing involved. Just need to play good multiway hands and have patience = profit.

I ended up going out saturday night with bunch of Finish poker players and got pretty drunk, slept only 3h and continued till evening. Pretty rude awakening to work @ monday morning.. Just got my name in VRP papers and seems that I'm a free man 1.6.2012. Still trying to get new job before summer, but I don't mind having a longer summer holiday and continue pursuing new challenges after that. I heard that my company still tries to offer us new projects if they find any before I go, but If they don't sound any good, I'm out.

I will continue my online games tomorrow, so see you at the tables! :f_p:

Played ~1000 hands Zoom PLO25. Don't know yet if I like Zoom or not, seems that avg. VPIP was quite low about ~26% in PLO25 when I was playing. You can find many looser players in normal tables. Here are few hands from normal tables.

Last 4000 hands that I've played after live poker weekend have been better. Running good and EV is also up. Feels that this could finally turn around. Tonight I played long session but made three stupid mistakes that cost me all the profits. EV was up thou, but still I could have been up 3 buy-ins if I just could have avoided those stupid plays. If I want to beat these stakes, I just need more patience and discipline. I guess those things are most important things when trying to move up from micro stakes, since most of the pots are multiway and bluffing in general is not really profitable in micros. Of course there are opponents that you can bluff, but there are not many profitable spots to do so.

I will try to grind 4k hands this week to maintain my gold VIP level and I will post my results for this month during weekend. Doesn't look good thou, but I still have 2 months to try do my best. At least Diablo 3 is coming soon, so I have something to do if this doesn't work for me.. :f_biggrin:

couple of hands from tonights session:

#1 Not so good AA, so I decided to just call OOP. Flop is great and I try to go for check-raise, but it fails. Turn is not bad either and after CO minraises, I could just call, since there is not many scare cards, but a club or K/J/T at river could kill the action and my opponent doesn't like folding either, so I decide to 3-bet and try to get it in. River is ez ship I guess, even when TJxx gets there. I think I will get called by any 2p or smaller sets.

Poker Stars $25.00 Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 5 players

Hero (SB): $31.54
BB: $53.05
UTG: $22.11
CO: $40.72
BTN: $25.00

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is SB with 5♠ A♣ A♦ 3♣
1 fold, CO calls $0.25, BTN raises to $1, Hero calls $0.90, 1 fold, CO calls $0.75

Flop: ($3.25) 8♣ A♠ Q♥ (3 players)
Hero checks, CO checks, BTN checks

Turn: ($3.25) 2♣ (3 players)
Hero bets $3.10, CO raises to $6.20, BTN folds, Hero raises to $21.70, CO calls $15.50

River: ($46.65) 9♦ (2 players)
Hero bets $8.84, CO calls $8.84

Final Pot: $64.33
Hero shows 5♠ A♣ A♦ 3♣
CO mucks 6♣ 2♥ 8♥ 8♠
Hero wins $62.33
(Rake: $2.00)

#2 This hand seems crazy, but my villain is 85/85/85 maniac, raising and 3-betting every hand he plays. I could even 4-bet pre. I go for check-raise on this flop because I know he bets 100% of the time when checked to in HU pot and can actually fold some hands here with no pair or decent draw.

Poker Stars $25.00 Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 4 players

Hero (BB): $25.00
CO: $34.34

Flop: ($8.00) 4♠ J♦ 5♣ (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $7.64, Hero raises to $21.30, BTN calls $13.66

Hero shows J♠ T♥ K♥ 9♥
BTN mucks 9♦ 5♥ 6♦ K♦
Hero wins $49.60
(Rake: $1.00)

#3 What can you do? I could just flat such a bad AAxx and setmine, since this table was full of 60-80/20/0 whales and every flop was 3- or 4-way all the time.

Long time without updates. Haven't really played for a week or so. I got cold and being sick sucks. More value to watch movies or play console games while getting better. Time to wrap up my first month and it doesn't look pretty..

Hands played between 8k and 11k were during couple of sessions, just after I got information that my work is over 31.5. I was relieved that I finally got that information and my mood was very positive, but still that made me play bad. I didn't really have mood for it and still I was trying to six table. Played bad, tilted few times and I didn't even care! I could have made close to break-even month without these couple of days but what you gonna do? I won't give up yet and I still have like 68 buy-ins for PLO25 so lets continue and keep learning. I try not to play if I'm not motivated... :f_frown:

I also had my last coaching session for now. We reviewed a whole session and there are still many errors that I make, but at least I'm now able to recognize most of them myself already. That gives me some confidence. I also try not to play more than four tables and use more time to make my decisions.

I will play first sessions of this month today and will post some hands later. See you at the tables! :f_grin:
