Grinding up from NL2

Thanks for the feedback Ras. I've been looking into the NL beginners course and it's definitely something I'll do at some point. I just made gold and I've realised that there still quite a few articles in the bronze section that I haven't read (I'm more of a video guy), so I'll probably take some time to go through all of those.

Took a bit of poker break yesterday.. well I played for a couple of hours and made about 2BI on NL4. I also played some casual live poker with some friends. I finally got them to try out omaha, but the end result was still the same.. me with all the chips ♠_cool:

I know most blog readers like to see graphs but there's a couple of reasons why I haven't posted any yet.

Firstly. I've just recovered from a +-40BI swing which would make my graph look pretty bad

Secondly, and more important. I split my play between work and home and I use 2 different tracking apps (tracker at work and HM at home) so any one graph will be quite deceptive.

Some quick info on my playing style:
I like to play 6 tables since that's the most my 21 inch can handle without overlapping and also I find I'm still able to pay close attention and take notes on players. I play full ring and my style generally varies depending on the players at the table. When it's full of nits or regs, I'll play more aggro especially opening up my 3bet range against regs. Against calling stations I'll tighten up but still more aggro and I find position is so much more important against these guys. Against maniacs, I'll play more passive. I'll only 3bet the top of my range. Against these guys, position is EVERYTHING, I think it's almost to the point where if I have a maniac on my left, I might just leave the table. Maniacs are certainly my weakpoint as far as opponent player types.

Are you using HEM2 sync?

I'm using HEM2. but what's sync?

HEM2 has this cloud database, I haven't used it myself but what I understand it just keeps your hands on online database so then you can have identical databases on both computers because they synchronize.

So I've started working my way through all the BSS articles I haven't read yet, but I need some motivation since I much prefer watching videos and tend to get bored with reading.

So I've decided that I will read at least one full article before I start any session.

People just like watching video's more then reading articles. You are not the only one who has that problem! I can read a whole article, but I do notice that I don't focus the whole time. I am reading the words, but I don't realize what I am reading...

I'm not a stats surgeon but the gap between your vpip and pfr looks a little to big. Means that you are limping/flat calling a little to much.

Looks like you had a huge swing 30.000 - 40.000 hands! But don't give up! You will get all your money back!

So time for a little update.

I seem to be stuck at the moment. I'll let the graph explain.

Over the last 5k hands or so, it feels like every time I take a step forward, I take 2 steps back. I remember the last time I played NL4 I didn't like it either. It seems like it's just nits and regs.

I did play on a table with a huge fish/maniac yesterday. He was going all in every other hand and was sucking out on every one at the table. I got 1 playable hand against him the whole session (AKo) and decided to call his all in. He had J9s and hit a jack on the flop and took me for 125BB ♠_cry:

He busted out against someone else shortly after.

I did manage to win a couple of big pots so I did end the session 1BI in the green.

I can't wait to go to NL10, I remember it as having a few less nits.

I'm undecided if I should move up as soon as I can, or if I should set a goal to play X amount of hands at this limit first.
