There's some solid facts listed in this thread but one thing has been grossly overlooked and that same thing is the reason why I would be shocked if he ever became the Spanish national coach. Guardiola is a hardcore Catalan. Maybe that goes somewhat unnoticed because he isn't overly aggressive or outspoken about it. It is a well-known fact that Guardiola got the Barca job because the previous Barca president (Laporta, who is very aggresive in his Catalan stance) liked that about him. It seems more likely he'll become more active in politics after his break. Maybe return to Barca some day, but u shouldn't expect him at the helm of the Spanish national team or another major European club (he stated in some of his interviews that he doesn't believe he could get his "mojo" working at clubs like AC Milan, ManUtd, Chelsea...).
If he had won the UCL with Madrid this year, yes, Mourinho would have seriously considered England manager imo. As it is, he is too ambitious to not try another year and I like that about him. He knows he is good and doesn't hide it.
@Malevolent behaviour and theatrics: Yes, it's not appealing to see that but each team has their bad guys. For Real they are usually Pepe and Ramos. For Barcelona, Alves and Busquets are at least same level as the previously mentioned. As some football people say in Romania: a team can't have just pianists, they also need some people to carry the piano for them.
When Mourinho mentioned he had unfinished business in England, im fairly certain he was referring to club football. I think it still cuts him deep to have come so close to winning the Champions League in England but falling at the last hurdle, and I think he will return to England eventually but to either Utd, City or Chelsea (maybe Arsenal) in an attempt to win the Champions League with an English team.
Yeah he loves the English game so im pretty sure he will return. But im fairly certain he'll never be England manager, it's just not worth risking your reputation for imo regardless of the price offered. I think he and other top managers realise that England simply aren't good enough to win a major competition when you compare the England squad to the likes of Spain, Holland, etc..

I think his arrogance may blind his judgement and he'll see himself as the manager, to finally give us something other than 1966 to shout about!
