The one thing I would say, you are restricting your options a lot by keeping to 9 handed over 10 handed. Have you tried playing a few to see how much difference it makes?

Good luck crushing at 888 either way :)

Callum

Hi!

The thing with 888 is that I have never seen any table that are running over the 8.80's, I have seen like one dude in the SNG but no body else joins basicly. And I played on PartyPoker 10 handed, but it was a while ago and I did not have the same or even close to my current skill. But idk, I still think 9 handed makes a different. I might have to go to Stars and really try to move up some levels, cause 8.80's on 888 is like 3.50's on Stars it feels like atleast hehe. :f_confused:
Thanks for looking into the 9/10 handed.

My question is about rake, people always want to get the biggest rakeback, but it seems like they don't pay attention to how big the rake really is, so can it be that rake differs so much that on one room you are paying huge rake and getting like 30% rakeback, but on the other room you aren't getting anything but you just pay a lot less rake that in the end you have paid the same amount of rake on both rooms and people will just go to the room with rakeback, because they feel they are getting money back while on other rooms they wouldn't have given away that much money in the first place.

What you say is true especially for micro limits, e.g. at Microgaming Network and PKR they give 30% rake-back but they charge 10% rake at the micro stakes! And that's for cash games.

Krishjanis and Phoenix2104 you both make good points.

These are things that should be considered when you choose a room.

Over all it should be your bottom line that you are concerned with, this includes winrate + rakeback. Not just rakeback alone!

I've recently cashed out from 888 - $600, I liked it for a while because the tables were very soft and I went from $25 up to $1000.

The last month or so I've hit a bad run and I'm becoming complacent and frustrated, I need a change of scenery to refresh my mind and desire.

As well as this I have no rakeback on 888 and I only got a puny bonus when I signed up which I only managed to clear bout $10.

I'm looking to put $500 into a new Poker Room in the hopes of either clearing a welcome bonus or at least clearing most of it, I would also like Rakeback which is within my reach of obtaining considering I'll only be playing 15/25 cash and $5 sngs/MTTs.

(Don't give me a lecture about Bank Roll please, this is as conservative as I can manage)

I usually play one short handed cash table with max buy in and either an MTT or SNG at the same time, so 2 tables is my optimum, I can play 3 tables but any more than that I find myself making dumb moves and decisions and lose money.

Ideally I want somewhere kinda fishy, doesn't have to be as soft as 888 but it has to be nice.

So in summary
15/25 SH + $5 Tournaments
Want Rakeback and a bonus which is realistic
Fairly soft tables

I looked at Poker Heaven and it seemed ideal but after reading about it I'm not so sure. It seems like the 30% rakeback and the sign up bonus are kinda hard to get.

Oh I usually play for about 2 hours a day on average, so 14 hours a week.

Your suggestions will be appreciated. :]

Hi Darkpenance0,

I think you would really enjoy playing on PartyPoker

I am actually playing on there as we speak, testing out the software etc. The games at 25nl seem very soft and the software is really nice.

They also have good traffic for $5 SNG's as well as some MTTs with similar buy ins.

They have a $500 first deposit that will help towards boosting your rakeback. The rakeback from the VIP system is quite low at around 15%. However the games seem really soft so they will make up for the lower rakeback.

So once you add the first deposit bonus along with the soft games and good software, I think PartyPoker will be a great room for you!

Best of luck

Callum

Hello, i want to hear your opinion about going and clearing a first deposit bonus onto a nother poker site.
I am currently playing 6 $ sng's at party poker. I know that I still have leaks and I am trying to study a lot aswell, but I am not a loosing player. I havent thought about it before, but I currently have no rakeback at party poker, so it seems like a good idea to get a 500 $ bonus somewhere else. What do you think? What sites have simmilar player fields as Party Poker?

thx guys :)

Hi Petersveter,

If you are happy with PartyPoker and you are looking for a first deposit bonus, WPT Poker would be perfect.

They are on the same network as PartyPoker and the software is almost exactly the same. They also have a $500 first deposit bonus to help boost your bank roll!

Best of luck

Callum

So when you say the 15% rakeback from the VIP system what do you mean by that exactly? I looked on your info in the Poker Rooms and it says nothing about Rakeback.

1. Which game type you play? (No limit? Sit & Go? MTT? PLO, Fixed Limit, Other?) - NL10, occasional Sit&Go:s and MTT:s.

2. Which limit do you play? (example: NL25, SNG $11, FL .50/1)

NL10, SNG $5, MTT $3

3. Short handed or full ring tables, or even Heads-Up?

NL10 6max

4. How much do you play? (e.g. I play 3 hours a week, or I generate $1000 rake/month)

I usually play several hours a day.

5. How many tables do you want to play?

NL10 4-6 tables.

6. What are your goals for the next 3+ months?

I'm looking to deposit $200-400. I've been playing on PokerStars but I'm looking for maybe a little softer games. I've tried ongame and the games seemed pretty soft there.

I'd really like to generate some bankroll so a nice bonus deal would be nice. I really would appreciate an advice on the easiest first deposit bonus.

I would also like to start playing NL25 once I have the bankroll.

I'd like to take an advantage of a new players deposit bonus, so these sites really aren't an option as I already have an account:

PokerStars, Unibet, Titan Poker, Poker770, PartyPoker, 888poker, Betfair and Mansion Poker.

Hi Pucilpet,

The best site I can recommend is William Hill, They have great traffic for NL10 and NL20 aswell as some traffic for SNG's and MTT's.

The first deposit bonus is one of the best going. Its a 200% bonus so if you deposit $400 you wil qualify for a $800 bonus. This deposit bonus also clears at around 42% so will help a lot in boosting your bank roll.

Good luck on your way up the limits

Callum

Hi Callum,
Cheers for the recommendation.

I'll test the IPoker waters with my Poker770 account first.

Can someone answer my question about PartyPoker Rakeback please? I don't understand the 15% VIP, I can't find anything in your review about it.

Hi Darkpenance0 sorry for the late reply.

If you follow this link

It explains here about the returns you can expect from PartyPokers VIP system plus our exclusive offers for different amounts of rake.

Hope this clears things up

Callum

Ok thanks, So basically you need to rake at least $250 a month to get Rakeback.

Thats not to bad, I usually rake between 100 - 400 depending on how much I play.

I've been playing some games on 770 and checking out other ipoker skins but the times I play there aren't many people at all playing HUSnG.

Do you know of any good sites that have good traffic and possibly a good 1st deposit bonus? I'm looking to deposit $200. I don't mind playing at sites such as stars where I have an account and traffic is good even though I won't get the deposit bonus but just seeing if there are other options.

Hi Phatmaori,

Sorry to hear there isn't enough traffic on Ipoker, How many do you intend to play and at what time do you play?

We have plenty of other solutions available it just depends how many you would like to play _cool:

The sites with some of the better traffic will be PartyPoker and Betfair.

Both of these have rewarding FDB's. When I played on PartyPoker I found it really easy to get 4 games going at once. This comes down to the times you play though.

Let me know your thoughts

Callum

I'm currently playing NL10 on stars. Is there a place where games are softer?
I'm playing around 6 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. 4-6 tables at once. First deposit bonus would be nice. WPT and WH are not a option I guess, because do not work in Denmark.

Looking forward to hearing from you ;-)

Hi Nikolass2,

I would suggest you try Unibet.

They have a FDB up to €1k aswell as 30% flat rakeback.

Then to go with that they have some nice soft games and really easy to use software!

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Callum

Partypokers rake will destroy me since I'm only playing micros. Not sure what time it is on the poker sites but it is mid afternoon in New Zealand when there isn't much traffic.

Only 1 tabling so I think I could probably get away with hitting up Ipoker for a while.

I think eventually I'll move to Stars even though I'm not tracked :(
