I'd make a tight fold with the 33 rather than play against a 5x raise with it OOP. This guy's probably a loose cannon, you'll find plenty of better spots.

FLOP ($240) 8♥ 6♣ 3♣

Hero checks, checks

TURN ($240) 8♥ 6♣ 3♣ 2♦

Hero bets $180, calls $180

RIVER ($600) 8♥ 6♣ 3♣ 2♦ K♣

Hero checks, bets $450, Hero calls $450

Hero shows A♥ 8♦

shows 9♦ 7♦
(Pre 43%, Flop 42.1%, Turn 25.0%)

Hero wins $1,500

First, sorry about my bad English. lol
This villain started playing very tight but in last hands he was playing very agressive and loose.
On river he bets 3/4 and I call because I hope that he doesn't do this with a flush, I believe that in a flush draw he cbets the flop and bets less on river.
How do you play this hand? Do I have anyway to extract more value? Can I shove this river?
Thank you.

their is a big mistake on the flop

and
u gonna tell me why

think about
-stakc size
-hand range of call

Sorry for delay to reply.
I, don’t know, but I think the mistake is...
I could lead this flop because He may call with straight draws, flush draws or 2 overcards so, I can extract more value of these draws.
But , I checked because He was very agressive and I believed that He would cbet and if I lead he may fold.
Is this the mistake on flop?

And, one question, I almost never use donkbet in my game. If this is the mistake, can you explain me What is the ideal conditions to use donkbet?

Thank you again.

I lead OOP vs passive players for value.
vs nits as a bluf.

your goal in poker is to have information by betting

the bet on the flop is very crucial considering ur hand and the board texture

why

because u mostly like having the best hand here by betting strong u can see if vilain has connected to the flop

if u miss the bet u dont know the range of hand of vilain thus u dont know the size of ur bet u gonna do on the turn and the river

in ur case on the turn u had no clue where u hand stand and u had no clue of his range

now if u bet strong u will have a good guess of his range

now lets say the turn wasnt a club ur hand still very strong and u will know the size of ur turn bet and maybe the vilain will stack off with his marginal hand and call with worst pair putting u on a draw

now in this case there is a club

so by betting the flop u know that theire is a good chance that vilain has a club draw or made it on the turn so u can pot control; or block bet

now we can see a leak into ur game with this hand

with what i said

think what is it and let me know

the donk bet

i m not a big fan of it some doesnt it on dry board or doesnt it on the turn when its check on the flop

its really a matter a confidence on ur play and ur metage process here

Hey guys,

Its been a while since alloman started this topic and I was wondering what had happened to the HU SNG crew of pokerstrategy, so here I'm giving a try to refresh the topic. :)

I'm currently playing 15$ hypers @stars.
Villain is unknown, this is basically the 1st or 3rd hand of the match. I noticed the average population loves to make moves on these flops, but how should we respond to their tendencies?
A) Click it back to induce.
B) Call his flop raise and call any turn+river, no matter what.
C) Call his flop raise and call non :club: turns+rivers.
D) Call his flop raise and shove over his turn barrel on non :club: turns.
E) Shove over his flop raise.

Hey guys,

This looks like a revived thread. I'm going to move it to the SNG section since this is for cash games.

Manu.

Hello guys nice thread!
I primarily play SNGs but am interested in HUs the most. However my bankroll doesn't support HUSNGs (even the lowest stakes ones). I am super-fishy and play really really bad post-flop (all forms of poker). Combining the wide ranges of HU with bad post flop play = _cry: ! The only reason I can play SNGs decent is because I don't play postflop at all. (And I've read the Moshman SNG book)
I just play monsters all-in in the early stages and use ICM to push for later stages. So I literally have zero postflop skill.

I have HU sessions I would like analyzed instead of just hands because I think I played all of them bad.

Read this :
HU Session Review!
(No replies :( )

Would any of you guys be interested? Just point out my biggest mistakes.
And you can flame me all you want...

edit : Just realised this is a revived thread : (

1. Definitely bet flop.
2. When he raises he has to barrel high % to call him down to river.
3. Same as 2nd
4. Interesting what others thoughts are on this line.
5. Better make small re-raise, you are getting it in anyway just give him a chance to jam air.
