yes the galaxy note is BIG.
but when u get used to it its just awesome.
i see ur concern about having it in ur pocket when getting into a fight as securityguy. i wouldnt recommend it for work use then...

I have a galaxy note and my only complain is that it takes about a second to wake up after i push the home button, like what the shit is that? Also opening contacts takes approx. a second, I mean come on, I can play GTA 3 without lag or anything, but these simple tasks take time?

I had a look around for you and found the following useful tips for prolonging your HTC battery life:
