Does anyone know why there are loads of players without a nation next to their username?

Hey DanMeaks,

Strange one this, right?

I haven't played a lot at Stars over the last couple of days so I haven't noticed anything. Maybe you should contact PokerStars support and see what it's all about?

Kind regards,
Gary

rumour has it that they're the spaniards.

i think that's a solid theory, i'm pretty sure that some of the players that i see now without nationality were spaniards before :f_eek:

Just wanna add that I've know witnessed plenty of "homeless" players in the last couple of days, so it is definitely down to upcoming Spanish legalisation :)

Spanish regulations now permit residents to play online poker with licensed operators. Spanish players can compete only against other Spanish players as required by the recently passed online gaming law.

How many other countries has that you can play only against your own country? And why do they do that? Is it because they have to pay taxes so the rake would be different? Or is that Spain realised they consist of fish who just throw money out of the country?

Damn them. Spaniards made the games profitable. I guess one would have to move to Spain then.

Plenty of love for the Spanish players I see. Played a lot of decent Spanish SNG players lately. Then again, I'm a fish!
