Can an admin pls close this troll thread?I mean seriously.

Someone playing online for 7 YEARS...no wait you didnt read it i think...7 YEARS..has stuff like "ROI" in his vocabulary and doesnt know what a sample size is ( lol ) and then goes on to insult people who do know and say that if you need a big sample size you're basically an idiot?

Good troll man..good troll.

1/10 _love:

Question for you Jantony

I have never before invested in the stock market but yesterday I bought some shares and sold them today for 100% ROI.

Does this mean that I am a confirmed bone fida investor who has a 100% ROI or does it mean I got lucky on 1 deal?

how many deals (sample size) do I have to make before I know the true answer?

Why do you bother asking that? OP already stated that you don't need sample size. If you have 100% roi, that means you are pro. And what have luck to do with any of this?? You have 100 roi :)))

imo OP might even think, that when you play an mtt, say for 100$, then win 120$. it's 120% ROI

The only possible explanation here is that PokerStars just hate you in particular. It would be insane to think that perhaps PartyPoker has a weaker player base, when it comes to SNG's in particular.

I actually would advise you to contact Alex Jones and tell him your story. The U.S. government or CIA might be behind it.

I knew it had something to do with the US goverment.

Probably best to just contact your local MP or maybe get a facebook petition going so we can try and bring down these cheating scoundrels

I don't know what stakes you play but the 1-10 dollar level on stars has waaaaaaay more players than partypoker hence the increase in variance.

And btw you played poker for 7 years and still doesn't understand that this game has a huuuuuuge luckfactor?

Yes, this game has huuuuuuuge luck factor, but you just have to IGNORE IT.

There's a simple thing that people don't get: you will get lucky EXACT amount of times as you will get unlucky, over the long term. That means that you will lose set over set EXACT amount of times that you will win it. Is that so hard to understand?

And don't tell me that "but on partypoker I win more often than on pstars" shit, because I'm so fucking sick of reading these nonsenses.....

This is not true...A good player will get unlucky more than they get lucky, because they are often getting chips in the middle with the best hand and when you do this is quite difficult to get lucky seeing as you are ahead. Although you could argue that if the chips go in with 70% equity and you win that you got lucky because you will still lose 30% of the time so robed villans 30%.

If you lose with 30% equity, that's not unlucky. That's standard. If you lose with 70% equity - that's unlucky. BUT, you will win with 30% equity and lose with 70% equity same exact amount of times.

non-bolded part is a slight fallacy. the key is the bolded part...
kind of what you said. the idea is, if a 70/30 situation comes up 100 times and you win 90, that's being lucky over that sample too.

the right mindset is to only think in the "long term"... when the situation comes up like 100000 times you may even win like only 64000 times but you've made a nice profit anyway.

I actually love threads like these, more please!

Gives me my daily dose of humour from Poker Strategy:)

For someone to not even know what a sample size is I think is enough to show he really doesn't know what he is doing.

*Puts on tin foil hat anyway for the laugh* :megusta:
