Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $200(BB) Replayer
SB ($1,902)
BB ($2,788)
Hero ($4,310)

Dealt to Hero J♠ J♣

Hero raises to $400, fold, BB raises to $2,788 (AI), Hero calls $2,388

FLOP ($5,676) 4♦ K♦ 3♣

TURN ($5,676) 4♦ K♦ 3♣ 8♠

RIVER ($5,676) 4♦ K♦ 3♣ 8♠ 7♣

Hero shows J♠ J♣
(Pre 85%, Flop 91.0%, Turn 100.0%)

BB shows 6♥ T♦
(Pre 15%, Flop 9.0%, Turn 0.0%)

Hero wins $5,676

SB appears to be a sort of fish. BB is a winning reg. Is his reshove as bad as it seems to me?

You might be raise-folding quite much here, but I heavily doubt it would be nowhere often enough for this resteal to be good. Especially if/when you expect somewhat loose resteals. I dont mind to shove decent amount of resteal hands here as it is ok spot to abuse (very game flow dependent obv), but would snap fold garbage hands anyway.

Thanks chaps. In chat he said "how's that god-mode working out for you?". I guess he's just not giving me enough credit for adjusting to his tendencies...

So how much you open here as a big stack? Adusting to 3bet shoves is probably one of my greatest weaknesses.

depends on what the SB is like. if the SB is tight ill be raise/folding all my trash and raise/inducing monsters and open jamming the middling hands like KTs/44 etc.. my open fold range would be very very small.

if the SB is loose , reshipping light etc... ill take hands from my r/f range and add them to my open jam range.

i would be playing something like 75% here minimum? the BB can definitely adjust to rejam wider if he notices your open freq. but I would still want some sort of equity to rejam light on the BTN, T6o doesnt cut it.

75% allows him to jam very widely here though, forcing you to make awkward calls or awkward folds. (+ofc outright abusing you if you fold too much(

Are you balancing your middle hands?

dont need to, its not exploitable

But for the villains' call ranges, the more hands in your range the more mistakes they will make. If he knows you are only pushing your middle of the road hands (A7,kj,33etc..) it will be easier for him to make the correct play.

their call range is going to be very static regardless of whether i add top 10% into my range. the difference is i lose a lot of raise/call value and I also cant include mr/fold bluffs into my range because there is no nutted hands to balance the mr/folds.

so you just open jam AA here every time jaxtraw ?

Haha, na I dont open shove AA every time, but enjoy doing it against regs from time to time. I dont think their calling range will remain static should they see you show down AK+ once or twice. I believe it shakes out some of their future light calls against our shoves.

light calls? on the bubble? making a light call would be pretty stupid from an ICM perspective.

its not like they are going to start calling us with more hands than they would reshove.

lets say he reshoves A8s+ 66+ KJs+

do you think he starts calling with A6s and K8s if he suspects we are unbalanced?

the way to induce more mistakes in this spot is to r/f and r/c . open shoving actually makes villain play more optimally because the ICM can dictate his play easily. and the reason why i open jam middling hands is because its going to be very marginal to r/c or r/f those types of hands while the EV of a shove is very clear. and he cant exploit or adjust to an open shove range on the bubble when he has a clear static call range even against an unbalanced jam.

even if he was to go into sng wizard and remove the top 5% of my hands (because he assumes i would induce) his call range will not change by much outside the nash range. (havent checked this, maybe I will)

i also want to add that the value from your line comes only after these conditions are met.

1. villain actually calls when you have the top 5% hand.
2. villain is watching the AI
3. villain is good enough to note that you showed up with that range when shoving
4. villain is good enough to adjust to this fact.
5. you play enough games with villain for this to be beneficial in the future

thats a long list of conditions that have to be true for you to even see some small future benefit from open jamming AK+ TT+ .
