Have you ever tried STT-s, jbpatzer?
There you at first fold everything, and when you have 10bb left, you shove approx 50%, but still folding most of the time when someone else shoves.
Eeezy money!

Yes. Exactly my point. I lost sight of this. I'm not watching any more videos or reading any more articles. I'm going to work this out for myself.

I've tried everything. Actually, that sounds really desperate, but what I mean is that I love poker so much that there isn't much that I haven't dabbled in, except for PLO, which is the game of the devil.
Definitely agree about the vid problem jb, I was going back to nl4 after watching nl100 vids and getting owned ![]()
Bierbaer has an nl25 leakfinder out if that's more your bag.
Oh and you don't sound desperate, just enthusiastic.

He is being nice.
I've had the same experience with the videos too. Maybe higher status at PS should carry a bankroll warning, if you have got there without moving limits.

He's not kidding either. This is exactly how SNG's work. He has left out nothing.
SNG Early Phase:
Is my hand ridonkulous?
Yes: Stack off.
No: Fold.
Do I have TPTK or better postflop?
Yes: Stack off.
No: C-bet or check/fold.
SNG Mid Phase:
See SNG early phase.
SNG Late Phase:
Is the pot unopened?
Yes: If you have a hand, shove.
No: Fold non-monsters.
SNG Heads Up:
This is the most complex, difficult part of an SNG that will require accurate reads and postflop...nah, I'm just screwing with you.

Final piece of advice. Dealing with downswings is the same as in cash games (Blame JokerStars obv.) but when you make a stupid play, instead of yelling "Pot odds!" you have to yell "ICM!" instead.
Congrats! You're now an SNG grinder!

Sounds more like it.

Well, if you'd told me you were 3betting AKxxx before we played rather than after......I knew something odd was going on.
And thx for the SnG tips Salivanth. I have been down that route. I spent couple of weeks playing nothing but 6max superturbos on FT. That put hairs on my chest. Ran like shit obv.
I decided that another problem that I have is that I've taken to starting my session before number two son goes to bed, thereby breaking another one of the golden rules that I set myself in the past. Now what can I write while I'm waiting......?
Rush spoiler no. 16
Spoiler
Test For Echo (1996). So after battering the shit out of his kit in the previous album, Peart decided he needed drum lessons, came back, and in this album he's all 'dancing feet' and funny grips. I've never liked it much tbh. This track's alright.
And I also think that if Pokerstars don't get rid of their 'Help Rafa Nadal Learn Poker' thingies that pop up every time I open the client, I may have to break my laptop as an excuse to stop playing. I mean he's a multimillionaire, but I have to help him to learn poker?? Whaaaaat?? He should just talk to Boris Becker.

How can I not make $$$ against pros like these?
Hands where I called a river bet yesterday: -$80
Hands where I called a river bet today: -$5
Now all I need to do is run a bit hotter and I think we have lift off again.
Discipline > aggression?
At various times you had the following sigs:
"Folding my way to success" and
"Getting to showdown with the best hand"
I realized in June that they are opposite sides of the same coin.
If you don't fold when you should, you take garbage to showdown.
The clue was the infamous "red line"
By being over-aggressive, I was getting to showdown relatively rarely, but winning far too few of them.
My NS winnings were > 0 though

Really, and TT has said this over and over, it's about adjusting to your opponents. On average, at NL25, they're calling stations who aren't aggressive without close to the nuts. But that's just the average. You really crush these games by knowing who's who. And the information's mainly there in your HUD.
[04/07/2012 23:34:21] EmanuelC16: how far off NL50 are you again?
[04/07/2012 23:34:25] EmanuelC16: I know you want those vids..

[09:36:12] EmanuelC16: you gotta do something to make poker more fun..
[09:36:29] EmanuelC16: you wont get better without enjoying playing...
[09:36:36] EmanuelC16: I know winning also helps with enjoying:D
[09:36:43] EmanuelC16: but you need more than that...
[09:39:16] jbpatzer: The problem is it's 9pm-11pm, mrsjb feels neglected, I'm usually knackered, and I'd rather be sat in front of the telly with her with a beer in my hand.
[09:39:25] jbpatzer: My family just wears me out
[09:39:51] jbpatzer: If I could play right now this second for 2-3 hours, I'd be (party)
[09:39:56] jbpatzer: I'm awake

I watched about half of this vid with my sandwiches. It made me feel better because, being diplomatic, the guy had some leaks that I don't have. Maybe Bierbaer could do an NL50 leakfinder with me?
And thx for the SnG tips Salivanth.
No, no. Those are not tips. That is a complete strategy guide for beating all SNG's up to the $200 level. (After the $200 level, you need to learn a bit of postflop play. You're an NL25 grinder, you're fine. Overqualified, even.)

Maybe I should share my complete beating the micros strategy guide.
Value, value, value, and don't pay off.
Now all I need to do is follow my own advice.

Ask Mrs. Jb to read that statement loud. It is more likely that you will listen to her than yourself.
