I miss my set but pick up an OESD, even though if the K hits I realize someone probably has a better straight holding an ace. I check because I miss my set and should likely play c/f from here on out.

The reason I try a tricky play here is because this bet just seemed super weak to me and I felt he was trying to scoop an easy pot. I have some showdown value and some potential to barrel certain rivers (pairing a card on the board, FD completing, any 8, any K, sometimes an A). It just seems like a good spot to try and take this one down.

Some may have argued I should have just folded but as played, I think this is a necessary bluff bet on the river to try and take it down. His call is pretty questionable in my opinion and I just took a note that he calls down light on scary boards.
