Nice Blog! I am having the Swing too! After another session tonight I think I am gonna make a rage post on my blog, but that's ok! Gonna follow you, let me know if you want to skype some time.

Thanks ChowChow! Hey don't, learn to control your emotions early on, it will only benefit you in the long-run. _cool:
Yeah sure, I'm up for sweats in general, it's just not going to happen for me before the July (because of the prop bet and exam) _cry:

Will be following you! Good luck!

Cheers Tiltmeifucan, glad to have you here! It's just not going to be that frequently updated before the July because of the exam I'm having..
But even in a past few days while studying I played a little (couldn't resist, seriously, like I'm on drugs lol), so another update is about to be posted!

Best regards

I am the same way. I had a sociology midterm, and read more about poker than what I was suppose to for my midterm. Was an easy test though, so no harm done. Good luck with your studying. What are you taking?

I don't know how to explain it (and how is it called in English.) But basically I just finished high school, and in order to apply for the college (faculty) I have to take a test - and scores from that test will have a great impact of me becoming an actual student or saying goodbye to the that particular college all together.. I think it's called SAT/ACT examination in English/America, but I'm not too sure.

I'm taking mathematics, it's the College of Mathematics, and the subsection is about computers.. Hard to explain in English really.. :/

Can't wait to finish that exam, then I have all summer free to take on my poker 24/7 _evil:

Just a heads up for fellow MSSers, if they though the same as I did.

Oh, and I don't think I'll be playing a lot before the July, because of that exam I'm having.. :/ But will still spend time lurking on the forums, reading about MSS and perhaps blogging about something interesting as well..

All the best!

Hi there!
After playing some few k hands I started to understand how to use 3-bet chart and post-flop chart in practice. MSS is simple strategy but there are many details, which we overlook. When I stick to the charts/rules I most of the time end in the money (or ticket to another step) on PP freerolls. Unless I am really unlucky.

Hey Ramadas,
Nice to see you here. :) Have you started making a good bet sizes?

When I stick to the charts/rules I most of the time end in the money (or ticket to another step) on PP freerolls. Unless I am really unlucky.

Um, do you really play tournaments with MSS? I mean, how can a strategy that's profitable when you have 40bb's work when you have ~60bb's (at the start) and decreasing rapidly.. IMO, in tournaments when you have <13 (some would say even <10 bb's) you should either fold-or-shove preflop, and MSS never suggested that.. Just asking, perhaps I understood wrongly what you were saying...

Still hating the coming exam..

Somehow it works. Of course when blinds are big then MSS tell to shove or fold, because 3-bet is bigger than half of your stack. Usually I go all-in with premium cards, when I have around 10 BB left and usually it works and I double or triple up.

you could sit out of the tourny until you have between 30-50 bb's and then play mss :f_biggrin:

Good luck with your exam....ship it :)

Yeah you could, but as soon as you drop to <10BI, you have to shove-or-fold, can't OR profitable as MSS suggests..

I said earlier..

Hey thanks! On that note I've made a prop bet with my parents. Basically, if I ace that exam then they won't have to pay the faculty fees for the first year and they'll hand me 100 euros to help my poker.

And......I am back! Finished my exam today, I scored good, ranked 64. of the all 620 people who took it.. So I'm done with it, WON my prop bet! :megusta: I'm officially proud student of college of mathematics in the capital of my country, and with that said I have a long summer break all until the October the 1st to shake my poker world. :P

Poker BR: 32.63$ + 125$ = 157.63$ (ChaChing!)

I'm definitely dedicating this summer break to poker, poker and some more poker. I really plan to play a lot, analyze a lot, and improve a lot..
However I'll chill out for a day or two, these two days has been really stresfull for me, so I expect I'll be back into poker world in a day or two! :f_thumbsup:

All the best!

Hey guys! Well I do have an important thing to say, some will take it as a good thing, some (I guess) as a bad thing, some just doesn't care about me which totally reasonable but I switched from MSS to BSS..

Reasons, well there are few.. First off, I have a background in BSS, I used to multitable like 12-13 tables playing FR BSS and I got my starting PS's 50$ to ~200$ last summer, but then I quitted.. Don't ask me why, I still ask myself the same question, I guess after a while the playing becomes a grind and not so interesting but that's where true professionals shine - doing something profesionally means doing it even if you don't feel like doing it.. :) Please help me not to do the same mistake this time, mkay? :f_thumbsup:

BUT, I forgot almost all, so I don't think my background in BSS is that beneficial to me right now, but I do feel right at home at some spots.

Second reason - When I started with MSS, I though it was pretty easy learn-in-7-days strategy that can earn me a lot of moniez if I turn myself into robot state and just play 15 tables... ;D But reality is harsh, even with MSS you have to take into account villain's tendencies and stuff if you want to be more than a break-even player, and I though to myself if I already have to do all of this, why not start with BSS and learn it for a life! :) Harder, but more profit.. More hands which always equal more stuff to keep me entertained and above all, I always in a back of my head knew I'll switch to BSS once, so why not now.

I'm really sorry to all other MSSers(namely roopopper, ramadas..) with whom I though we'll have a good time together, but we can still discuss stuff up to some point :)

 So, fresh start! With big BR and 90 days of freedom! :f_love:
But I do need your motivation guys, hopefully someone will from time to time write in my blog "keep going!" or words like that because I'm just a 19 y.r old guy who is totally alone in this, all my real life friends believe this make a living with poker is a bullshit, but not me.. :)

Bankroll: 161.56$

But I still play NL2.. I don't know, I'm more conservative type of guy, but above all I want a BSS to become a second nature (kind of) before moving up..

:diamond: Short-term goals :diamond:
[1] Learn PS's starting hand chart by heart..
[2] Learn a really good, stats-based blind stealing, because I personally see a lot of profit in that, especially now-a-days since even at NL2 action can get tight, so much room for stealing..
[3] Improve putting players on player types like A-Fish, P-Fish, TAG, NIT, LAG (I like how Sweeny 'SplitSuits' explained in the book and ThePokerBank.com site).. Like when I see 33/5 I should recognize a player who is a weak-loose, and have a strategy for him..

So far, played 800+ BSS hands while 2-tabling, with a profit of 5.44$

Wish me luck guys! :)
Best regards!

:club: Major update ! :club:

Hey guys, I haven't been writing in a while, but that's not to say I haven't been playing. I continued playing BSS FR on normal tables for some more hands, and did solid..

But then I stood there for a second, and an idea came..."Zoom?!". I couldn't play it before because I played MSS (40bb's BI, while minimum on zoom is 50bb), but now I could and I decided to give it a shot, after all it's the "same game" just faster :)

So I played for some time, and I liked it! So far can manage to play two tables which gives me about 650h/hr given my play style (13/11) :)

So far have played 7000 hands, and it's going well.. Hope it continues this way! :)

Bankroll: 168.44$ (+6.88$)
I'm also really close to getting a 10$ in bonus, I need 170 vpp's and I currently have 140..

I'm also wondering whether to keep on playing zoom nl2 until I hit like 20-25k to be sure my strategy is good there and then move to zoom nl5, or should I just move tomorrow (since my br is good enough) and save myself like 15-20 days of grinding through nl2, since I play around 1k daily.. :/ I'd like to hear what you think, if you happened to read what I just wrote :/

Best regards!

Hello eXtremeACE, Welcome to Fast poker world :)

I also play zoom, fullring nl5. Tried Shorthanded but spewed like 3BIs :)

It's really cool that you can you put huge volume within short time and still have a good winrate ! :)

Fastfold poker is lovely under certain circumstances!

How're you liking it then?

About moving up, you should feel comfortable with the format before rising through the stakes, so once you feel you have it covered, if the BR allows, taking shots should be quite fine!

SneakyhanD, yeah it is.. It's really fun and interesting, seems to me like it's really hard going back to regular tables after you've been zoomed..

How're you liking it then?

fruktpuff, oh it's a blast! Since my moto has always been "wait for premium spots, not premium hands" it really helps me to not feel so connected with my cards. :)

For example if you have a guy who plays 2 regular tables, he's not going to get AQ/AJ all that often, and he might feel committed to play them once he gets them.. In zoom, if I get multiway pot before me and I hold AQ for example, I don't feel so bad folding it, since I know AQ plays poorly in a mw pot, and can therefore wait for better spot. :)

About moving up, you should feel comfortable with the format before rising through the stakes, so once you feel you have it covered, if the BR allows, taking shots should be quite fine!

Well, I might try to give a few buy ins shots at nl5 when I'm really focused and eager to play, and other times I'll just continue to 2 table grind nl2 zoom and go from there.. :)

I'll write here how it goes :f_thumbsup:

Just played a quick session on nl5, like 300 hands, it's not even a sample I know lol, but came into few interesting spots and would like to discuss it with someone if they feel like it.

Hand #1 - KK

Spoiler

Play hand

CO is 50/0 over 2 hands.

$0.02/$0.05 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

Known players:
[tg]BU$7.79:///////;SB$11.50:///////;BB$5.52:///////;UTG1$2.83:///////;UTG2$6.38:///////;MP1$5.00:///////;MP2$5.57:///////;MP3 (Hero)$5.52:///////;CO$1.37:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K:h, K:d.
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, CO calls $0.15, BU calls $0.15, 2 folds, BB folds.

Flop: ($0.52) 9:h, J:c, A:d (3 players)
Hero bets $0.35, CO calls $0.35, BU folds.

Turn: ($1.22) 7:s (2 players)
Hero bets $0.58, CO raises to $0.87, Hero calls $0.29.

River: ($2.96) 7:c (2 players)

Final Pot: $2.96.

Results follow:

CO shows two pairs, aces and sevens(Qd As).
Hero shows two pairs, kings and sevens(Kh Kd).

CO wins with two pairs, aces and sevens(Qd As).

The thing is, I knew I was behind with that hand on that flop most of the time, I still opted to cbet because for all I know, opponent may not have A there or any straight-draw.. When he called it, I was ready to give up, but then I saw he has like 0.87$ left and I decided to be ready to bet/call just because of that.. Probably the most stupid reasoning, but it's late right now to change anything.. :f_frown:

And, am I giving up too easily in this spots? :/

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K:h, A:d.
UTG1 calls $0.05, 3 folds, Hero raises to $0.20, CO raises to $0.60, 5 folds, 4 folds, 3 folds, 2 folds, Hero folds, CO gets uncalled bet back.
CO: 40/40/33.3(3) (vpip/pfr/3bet) over 5 hands.

Preflop: Hero is CO with A:c, Q:d.
UTG1 folds, UTG2 calls $0.05, 2 folds, MP3 calls $0.05, Hero raises to $0.25, 3 folds, UTG2 raises to $0.70, 2 folds, Hero folds, UTG2 gets uncalled bet back.
UTG2: 50/13/0.0 (vpip/pfr/3bet) over 8 hands.

Preflop: Hero is BU with J:h, J:d.
6 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, SB folds, BB raises to $0.45, Hero folds, BB gets uncalled bet back.
BB: 20/20/100(1) (vpip/pfr/3bet) over 5 hands.

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J:h, J:s.
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, MP3 raises to $0.45, 5 folds, 4 folds, 3 folds, 2 folds, Hero folds, MP3 gets uncalled bet back.
MP3: 7/7/8.3(12) (vpip/pfr/3bet) over 27 hands.

But I also think 3bet stat is flawed in previous examples, because HEM2 now shows that 3bet stats after those hands have happened.. :/

Hope to get someone's opinion.. :(

Hey all, well I'm proud to say zoom nl5 is now my *default* game, and now and then I take shots at zoom nl10. :f_p:
I'd just like never to have to go to nl2 again, because it's a pain in the ass, putting so many hrs into it, and getting cents. :/ I also started 3-tabling zoom, and usually put in between 1.5k to 3k hands a day, these graphs are basically the results of last 3 days.. Hopefully will continue to put up this kind of volume..

(+45.88$) from last update
Bankroll: 214.32$
FPPs: 313.48

Anyways, here are the graphs, because I know people love these.

NL2 Graph

NL5 Graph

NL10 (shots-taking) Graph

All in all, I know I don't have a lot of sample on nl5, but I do feel my game has improved from nl2.. I managed to get my flop cbetting% in 72%, it used to be 85-90%, so that's a good improvement..

Not whola lot left from me to say, will see how this goes.. :)

Decent looking result on NL5, and anything over b/e is successful, as shots go!

Keep it up!
