For those who don't know, on Sunday night (1am Eastern Time, 8am GMT) a new, car size Rover is due to land on mars.
This design is tasked with the mission of determining whether life once existed on the red planet.
There's really never been a time in history when we could look at another planet for signs of life in the ways we look at our own planet to examine the history of life on earth. Personally, I think its pretty damn cool.
Maybe I put it wrong.
We are on the door step of arguably the single greatest scientific discovery: life elsewhere.

Just the fact that they can do things like this amazes me. Truely remarkable acheivement. I for one hope they do find life out there. If only so I can hear from the church the reasons why God put micro plankton on Mars or little green men (and women) on jupiter.
I thought it was due to attempt landing at 10pm ET hope im wrong then i can catch some of it in the morning

Yep! NASA's team had a pretty great reaction to the news. That landing plan was something out of mission impossible... pretty nutty stuff.
I watched to coverage of this.
That was quite the dance.
They seem to be very hopeful about the search for life, but I am not sure I expect a positive result at all.

I'm just getting a still of the NASA logo atm what happens when somethings going on? Live pictures/video from the Curiosity? Pretty cool if so, and how often is it showing?

Hi, earlier they had a press conference talking about the rover, where they landed, where parts of the landing gear may have landed... and of course what they plan to do first, which basically involved a lot of rover-related testing.
I heard they have another presser planed. Not sure when it starts but its kinda soon i think.
As for pictures/video... They're setting up a better signal in idk, 2 days or something at which point much better images will start to filter in.
My guess is it'll be something to watch over the next couple months. The mission is planed to last something like a minimum of 2 years.
