Hi, I had HM1 on my system with windows 7 and it worked fine. Since I updated to windows 8, HM wont load. I have reinstalled after a delete and I keep getting, cant install port 5432, please turn off firewall. I turn the firewall of retry and its the same message over and over. I am using the standard windows firewall that in included. No idea what to do

I'm not absolutely sure but I think I saw somewhere that HM2 (maybe it applies to HM1, too) doesn't work on Windows 8, yet.

And you are sure there is no other security software installad that could possibly block the port?
If so here's a good chance that hem is not compatible with win8 yet. Maybe you could install a dual boot or install your pokersoftware in a virtual machine running win xp / 7.

Thanks everybody. Ive tried the dual boot and looked at the threds, nothing is working. I dont have any extra security features on this computer. I guess Ill have to wait a while and see if it catches up with Windows8. Guess Ill have to go raw dog on the tables

Did you upgraded from Win7 or it's a fresh Win8 install? I have read that many have problems with upgraded version.

Maybe you should try clean install, lot of people having problems with upgraded version, and not just relating to poker.

Id postgres running?

Strange error message. An TCP/IP port is nothing you "install". You connect to it if there is a running server listening to it (in this case postgres).

/Johan = :f_confused:

when i open HM it loads to a point then tells me it cant connect to the database and establish a connection to 127.0.0.1. I keep trying top reinstall but it tells me it cant install the port because the firewall is on( although i turn it off)
Thanks for the help everyone

Aren't there an option on Win8 through HM properties switch the compatibility mode to run the program in compatibility mode fow Win7? :f_confused:

Haven't used Win8, really don't know, but maybe this would help. :f_cool:

Best of luck at the tables,

yankomania :f_biggrin:
