Interesting hand from todays session:

SB: t1305 43.50 BBs
Hero (BB): t1236 41.20 BBs
CO: t2724 90.80 BBs
BTN: t3735 124.50 BBs

Pre Flop: (t45) Hero is BB with K :club: T :club:
2 folds, SB raises to t75, Hero calls t45

Flop: (t150) 3  7 :spade: A :spade: (2 players)
SB bets t84, Hero calls t84

Turn: (t318) 5  (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t197, SB raises to t429, Hero raises to t1077 all in, SB folds

Preflop is obv totally standard, I'd defend much wider. Probably pretty close to like 40% of hands or even more. I'd say that playing bvb is a pretty big leak for most players, I think regs fold far too much. Most people (and esp regs) play incredibly abc post flop from the SB, so you can play very loose, almost as if you were playing hu.
It's even more extreme in a mtt during ante stage, where I might defend like 60-75% of hands. I heard Timex say that some players defend even atc, which seems bit too loose to me. :)

On the flop, you can definitely justify folding, calling and even raising, with folding being just standard poker that most sng coaches would probably suggest. I choose to call because K-hi is just ahead decent amount of the time, plus he's gonna check/fold the turn incredibly often even with some slightly better hands like 22, KQ, 3x and stuff that still has decent equity, but can't call. The thing about raising is that you simply don't rep much at all, although vs. a multitabling weak reg that's probably just fine and there's just not much he can really do without a hand.

He checks the turn, I choose to bet simply to protect my eq and to take it down. I don't expect him to fold stuff like Ax or 7x and I'm not trying to achieve that either. I'm mostly trying to fold out air, hands like 3rd pair and random gutshots.
His check/raise is obv really polarizing. But the thing is, that a multitabling regular is just gonna tripple barel with a value hand all day long, so I'd say that check/raising the turn here is a bluff like 98-99% of the time.

I know that a lot of people (what up ic3g3orge) are gonna say that I'm just a spewy donk who levels himself, but if you actually think when you play, stuff like this is actually really easy to figure out. :)

Thank you sir!

Played a tiny bit of 0,25/0,5 and 0,5/1 LO8 and PLO10 rush cash today, just for fun. Was too tired to play sngs and had no time to play mtts, so spewing a few buyins in omaha sounded like a good way of spending my evening.

Lesson to be learned - do not fucking play when you are tired, even just a little. Some of may know this, I knew this, but still played because I'm a donk. Really, if you feel just a bit tired, just stay away from tables. It's not like those $20 or so that I lost makes me care, but it's really bad in the long run.

Started to read a blog by this geezer I played with in hu sngs and also in mtts and it's really inspiring. This bloke plays a lot of the tournaments that I play and I see him quite a bit in the lobbys.
Makes me really motivated to work even harder on my game, because this guy wasn't really that good when I played vs. him hu (though still decent).

Dealt to Hero T♥ 8♣

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, SB calls $250, Hero checks

SB bets $800, Hero raises to $1,899, SB raises to $3,980, Hero raises to $10,409 (AI), SB folds

Hero wins $9,500

Probably even had the best hand, but w/e. That was in the $11 big, where I'm quite close to ITM. Done pretty well so far today, two ITM's, one 10th place in a $2r, the other in $8 cap and now I'm in 4/20 in the $4 4max. Looking good.

Pre Flop: (t9375) Hero is BB with 9 :club: 9 :spade:

River: (t312051) K :diamond: (2 players - 2 are all in)

Final Pot: t312051
SB shows A :spade: 8 :club: (two pair, Aces and Eights)
Hero shows 9 :club: 9 :spade: (a pair of Nines)
SB wins t312051

Then I won some hands, but busted in 5th when I called of my 8-9bb stack with K7o<K8o when hu (kicker ofc played on AAQ65). Second FT bubble of the day. Won't be pissed if I win the $11 big tho.

But honestly I have to say I'm super happy with the way I played today. The 4max was one of the best tournaments I've ever played. Made some really ballsy plays in good spots, good vbets and all that. Just didn't run good in crucial hands, but that's poker as they say. :)

I hope so sir! :)

Having a sort of a strange session. Played really really bad for a long time, busted everything. Then watched some Ali G to make myself feel better and I'm playing well again.

Had a really interesting hand vs. a geezer in a $4 8max:

I 3bet pre mostly because we have some serious dynamics going on. I'm playing quite aggro, he's playing like a maniac. But not like a belend, I actually have to say he's played really well thus far. Just a good really laggy bloke. 3bet is with the intention of 5bet shoving over a 4bet or snapping of a shove.

I check back the flop because I expect to get check/raised a decent amount of the time and also for some pot control.

He bets the turna and I make a really super standart call, nothing interesting there.

With me checking back the flop and just calling the turn, my hand is face up as A-hi or JJ and lower and I'm sure he knows that I'm calling pretty much any bets since he's a maniac. His shove is basicly like saying "yo, I know I don't rep anything but I hope you can't call". So I called and got shipped the stack. It does take some balls to muscle up a call here for basicly your entire stack, but I do have balls.

Haha, it's really not hard to figure out :) It's just really hard to click on "call", that's by far the toughest part because it's for so many chips! You really don't want to be wrong here.

This gon be gud - I have 2nd stack in that donkament and Timoshenko is 3rd in the WPT 5 diamond. Ship it Yev!

I wouldn't call it that way, I prefer caling it "a high variance play".

But seriously, what do you think he'd ever play this way for value? Noone really shoves 2,5x pot on the river for value these days imo.

This is probably the worst play I've seen anybody make all day. Pre is actually super close for me because of the limp. I decided to shove because I saw the guy limp/fold from CO last orbit and overall seemed pretty bad. Plus I just really had to get something going and A7s is just too good of a hand to fold, given the stack and the fact that I'm in the BB in two hands.

His limp/call is incredibly terrible, because my range here is really tight here (A7s is probably the actual bottom of it). My range here is like 44+, A7s+, KQs, ATo+ here and he has 38% vs. that. Also I'm shoving my entire range here, so it's not like he can ever think "Oh if he had a monster he wouldnt shove, he has 44 fo sho, I call". Though I suppose he didn't really care.

a flush?

Or really, just a random set/straight/missclick/Its-2AM-and-im-getting-tired-with-this-4$-MTT/I-don't-want-to-fold-KK.

Noone really shoves 2,5x pot on the river for value these days imo.

You can't assume that. And besides, you don't even beat all of his bluffs.

Let's break this down:

A flush, straight or a set - all of these is a fucking huge hand and you want to get some value from my weak range. So he'd bet like 6k, but he'd never shove because he can't assume that I'm gonna hero call him in this spot with these stacks with something like TT.

Misclick - first of, it's pretty hard to misclick shove post flop.. Second, you're just really careful when you're in a 3bet pot with a big stack vs. the chip leader close to the bubble.

Its-2AM-and-im-getting-tired-with-this-4$-MTT - I guess this discussion is not really worth my energy if you honestly think this is a valid arguement. Obv if you're just trying to make fun of me for playing $4 mtts thats fine too.

I-don't-want-to-fold-KK - Sure, noone wants to. But, you know, if you don't want to fold, there are other options than to shove 2,5x pot.

You can't assume that. And besides, you don't even beat all of his bluffs.

Why not? I have never seen anyone competent jam 2,5x pot in similar spots with anything decent.
I'm beating all of his bluffs omg.. For me to not beat all of his bluffs, he'd have to turn Qx into it (he doesn't have JJ because he'd 4bet pre). And why on earth would he turn Qx into a bluff? He has absolutely no reason to do that. That would be an incredibly nonsensical thing to do.
Is ic3george your coach by any chance?

Well if villain really is competent player then it just becomes a leveling spot when villain is using such play. After all competent player would never be totally unbalanced with such overbet line. It would make no sense. But if villain is just average/bad lag player then he can be almost always bluffing.

I was definetely not trying to make fun of you for playing a 4$ mtt, why would I do that
My point was that in low buy in mtts people just take random bad lines from time to time. For example if Utg minraises and utg+1 just calls deep in the money, you can be sure he has a monster ... That is, unless its a low buy in tourney and he called with J8s :)

Anyway, reading the rest of your post you had me convinced, nice play.

While I think he was playing very well, I don't really think there's any reg-ish player in the low stakes games who would like jam here with KQ here hoping I'm gonna level myself into making a hero call. The thing is, that he was using very sophisticated bet sizing, he'd never say 3bet from 600 to 2,5k or something like that. I'm 99,9% confident that if he had a value hand, he'd bet anything between 3-7k, but I really don't think he'd just jam.

I really do think that a massive overshove on the river coming from such player is a bluff nearly always. Though I could easily be wrong, this is just what I think.

Yea that's true and honestly vs. a random loose fish, I'd never call here. I know that a fish can just like jam here with QT because "I has top pair" and their shoves are mostly good hands.

Yeah well I don't think many would use such sizing anyway. More usual line would be to use smaller overbet if he has overbets in his arsenal. E.g. bet of 9-10k. I think it will give pretty much same results.
