I think you should start incorporating short breaks into your sessions. I find taking a 5 minute break every hour or so stops me from losing focus and allows me to play my A-game all the time :)

do you stop in between to take breaks if you grind?

I always play exactly 6 tables. By "adding" a table I just mean I close a lower limit table and open a higher limit one.

For instance, now that I play 4x NL25 2x NL10, I can "add" a NL25 table and play 5x NL25 1xNL10 or "remove" a NL25 table and play 3x NL25 3x NL10, depending on my BR.

I haven't figured out breaks yet. For now, I pretty much stop when I'm tilted, tired, or have to go to the bathroom. Then the break is at least 30 mins, often more. It's just 6 tables and I'm listening to music as I play, so it's really not that hard for me to go on grinding for a while.

sounds weird but thats what i do also. but im not crushing like you and i only play 500 - 1k hands a day hahahaha but sometimes i just play 4 tables if i dont feel like playing 6

@Wriggers: Thank you for the tip, I definitely have to try that one. It's the same as in tourneys and it worked alright with me, so I might just do it :)

@dwyt84: I like playing very few tables too and try to extract max value. Especially since I'm still new to BSS and I still need to figure out what some of my lines are. _confused:

Last night's session was horrible, I ran bad and lost 50eur. However this afternoon I more than made up for it with my best session yet. Now my BR is at 836.22eur (+20) and I can play 5x NL25 1x NL10. _biggrin:

I made a plan for the short-term future: I will play NL50 rolled 40x, but then continue up to 2500, withdraw 500, and play rolled 50x from there on (assuming I get there, of course... but so far so good) so that I can take +EV flips, which I'm currently avoiding. So I will add one NL50 table for every (2000-1000)/6 = 167eur over 1k. :f_grin:

In other news, I bought a last.fm subscription and discovered CocoRosie (yes, those are children's toys):

I like your BR system. I will need to see if I can maybe do something similar. Just now I start playing the next limit up when I have 22 or 23 buy ins. Your system really seems to be working for you though.

@clandestine: yes, I think it's definitely well worth trying.

I haven't updated this blog in a long time and I'll try to resume posting here when I can. In the end, I did reach my goal of a 2k profit in 2 months. _cool:

I've withdrawn a lot in order to pay for uni fees, then played some more and withdrawn some more money just for the sake of it, then took a short break from poker because I had other things to take care of. But now I'm back _cool:

Now my BR is at around 2.2k eur so I'm playing 6x nl50. Will add a nl100 table once I reach 2k+(4k-2k)/6 = 2.333 eur.

BR up to 2.5k. In my first nl100 table, I ended up with 332eur. I also won the very first hand (flopped 2pair with 43o) which is a good sign _cool:

I'm happy with the way I played today. Will grind some more after dinner. Not gonna play tomorrow night though, I'm going to watch the ME... I have 5 euros on Lamb!

Meanwhile if you guys get bored with poker, here's another fun game to pass the time:

Grinding is going well. However I'm pretty bored of playing cash... so I'm playing some MTTs on party and stars as well, just to keep it varied. I had left only 10 euros on both those account, now I've grinded it back to 26 playing 50 cent HUs and some NL2 on stars:

and to 42-ish on party playing SNGs, HUs, freerolls and a little bit of cash:

I do this just for fun as I'm playing 6 tables of NL50-100, to break the monotony of cash, and to see if I can build a roll back up from nothing ;) Paradoxically, I think it keeps my concentration levels higher and prevents me from going on autopilot. Plus, MTTs are my true passion, even though I "have" to play cash because of high profit and low variance.

Once I'm up to 50€ I'll start playing the 50c tourneys and put something aside for HEM2. I know it's weird, but I never actually got around to buying HEM _o:. I just didn't need it for the very fishy low-BI SNGs, and my current room where I play cash doesn't allow HUDs. But if I can grind my stars + party total to over 200 eur, then I can finally get it if I think I'll need it.

In a while I'm going to use the PT3 trial, even though at the micros I really, really don't need a HUD yet...

Hope you keep updating this outspan as just gone through your BR style of management and it seems very interesting.Want to give it more thought but will start grinding like mad in the new year and will probably adopt this style.

Haven't had time to go through the site you gave me the link to but will talk to you more about all that over the coming weeks if that ok.

There's a roller coaster there that pulls 5G... I tried it and it was fantastic... you can hear the screams of people riding it from the other side of the park

I'm switching to BSS SH looking for more action. Had my first private coaching with Gerv, who got to see how low the level on .it is

Now I'm looking back at the strategy articles (starting from bronze!) to refresh my memory, make sure I have a solid basis & make sure I didn't miss anything :)

Luckily there's an excellent BSS SH coaching from pokerstrategy in Italian, which is just what I need right now. BTW, I'm listening back to the private coaching and noting down everything. Gerv is a great coach, he gave me lots of great tips _cool:
