Hello everyone, great time has passed since my last post

As you know, I've been in India, it's been a great - very peaceful adventure.

I had some lack of motivation at first to do anything related to poker. heck didn't want to touch the computer was seeking for 'adventures' here in Israel hehe, met lot of new friends.

I also started studies, that's like preparation year before Social Work Degree.
It's nice to be around students, everybody young and stupid.
At first I had difficulties finding people with whom I can connect and be friends with, but slowly I found those nutfreaks like me ♦ haha

Will post some photos if people would want me to.

- As for poker, I started playing some HUsngs, showing small profit, just for the lulz though.
Recently I got back to zoom:

here's another hand where I think I missed value by betting fihs out of the hand by big bet.

I bet that high because of the fd but bet is probably just too big.

Considering I have a virtual roll of 460$ (ftp+stars) and 150$ on a stake that might come back as a good profit also.
I can play NL25 as soon as I'm ready.

I'm thinking nl25 because I'm just being honest with myself that I can't beat HUsngs yet. not even the micros !

I've had some shots at NL10, unfortunately failed as the game seemed to be a little bit different (lol). at nl5 things are as usual, sometimes big winning session, sometimes losing ridiculous money.

However, here again I meet this poker junction where I'm wondering what to play as everything is exciting !

Been celebrating with my family mostly eating and running jokes , no alcohol (not for me at least)

Decided to play some poker, felt like playing but unfortunately 2013 didn't start well for me poker wise.

As some of you know, I barely play zoom and mostly focus on 6max hypers and sometimes hyper HUsngs.

I played 43 -6max hypers now, was running so horrible I was laughing at some point and talking to myself: "river shows that card just because I'm waiting for it, ha?" - I was running very horrifying
At the end I had felt something unpleasant which gave me a sign to stop for now

-btw played 8-9 tables of 6max today, was pretty nasty start cuz I tried to let the software tile everything and it was TOO small. so I had to reconfigure the layout making everything a little bit and overlap. Ended pretty much fine

Guess I'll play more today when I'll wake up .

Yeah, that about sums up my thought-process after 2013 started ♦
My play in 6max hypers is just going so wild I'm not sure I can handle it. Of course I should've known that hypers are extremely swingy. BUT usually people who start hypers, they get heaters at first so they at least know they are able to beat.

Me ? Heater ? Of course ! Just in the wrong direction ::::

I will probably stop playing for a while at least until I'll make a sweat session with some hypers player to check out if there are some MAJOR leaks in my game.

Now that I'm away from poker I'm questioning myself whether I should really make this transition to sng's at all when I'm winning money in cashgame much easier.
I hope that I will not give up that fast and easy.

Hey guys, just checking in for a quick update.

It's been really rough 4 days in poker. Currently 70BI downswing in the 6max hypers, what a beautiful welcome

What is the reason ?

There has to be a reason, right ? When micro-stakes players experience big downswings, they will look for some major problems in their mindset, play, technique, skills, and sometimes blame variance. what is the case with me ? I have no accurate answer.

Yesterday I reviewed a 2-4 tabling session of total 18 games with the results;
zero 1st, 4 x 2nd, 8 x 3rds
Doesn't say anything clearly because small sample, okay. but this has been going for a while, so I had checked out all my bubble hands and HU hands.

** I'd found out that 90% of the hands I pushed are correctly played according to SnG wiz.
** my SBvBB play; I found out I have to push wider-range, I did not push a lot of trash hands although SnG wiz suggests pushing ATC. Though, I will often not push regardless of SnG-wiz suggestion because of villain's stats. maybe he's too call-happy and I will just bust myself out being underdog in the flip.
** most of the HU hands were played correctly.

Question ticks in my mind again: am I that bad and fishy, or it's really variance ?
Answer ticks in my mind: to check that out I have to review, and by reviewing I will improve and be less fishy and finally beat variance. haha :f_biggrin:

Conclusion

Do I have to grind out variance although my evROI is not green ?
Although many people suggest not paying much attention to the evline because it doesn't indicate directly whether u should be winning or not theoretically

I don't feel I am able to keep grinding the way I did. I will probably review last sessions, hopefully have a sweat-session with dydakas and vucitis
Also I will probably be looking for a stake deal as I'm not comfortable grinding them with my BR after experiencing such a nasty downswing.

I don't want to give up because I actually enjoy playing
It will be super easy to give up SnG's yet again, I have all reasons in the world to give up according to my history with sngs. but seriously, I don't want to.

playing 6max super turbos myself atm and they can be super tilting.
had to move down due to running below ev. definitely need more of a sample size to see if youre winning or not though. (most people say 1k+ but at micros you probably need more)
gl and dont let the bad run get you down. (i also tend to cut tables if i start running badly).

It is normal to keep switching gametypes when you first start out. Just know that whatever gametype you settle on you will have to work equally as hard to be good at it.

Your sample at the 6max hypers is loltiny. You need 10K+ to have an idea of your real winrate. Imo they're a good way to build your bankroll if you can put in big volume and handle the swings well. If you can only play 50 games a day then I suggest building your bankroll another way as you won't see the long run for a very long time.

i think 50games par day is plenty enough for start. i dont think anyone should play more than 4 tables at once on these while getting used to this type of games and field. marking regs takes time too, so i think first one or two thousand games 4tabling is pretty ok. its hard to do more than 25games per hour 4tabling...

For everyone to jump into my blog, I'm blogging again, for how long ? I don't know, for as long as it feels right.

This is an update as of 24.7.2014, I remember when writing this 2nd blog I was right before my flight to India and then I pretty much stopped playing after that because some other stuff caught most of my attention.
However, recently I started playing again and as always I have high motivation and feel very determined, but I'm not saying this time I'm in it for real, I'm in it as long as it feels right (right doesn't mean easy).

I have been playing zoom FR/SH, then switched to 6max hypers and doomed most of my BR (graphs at page no.4) what has been pretty much a bad experience.
I am still mixed in my mind in a sense I don't have 100% main game, although I focus on zoom, I do occasionally play HUsngs, when I'm at work with laptop I play husngs, I do play some occasional MTT's.

I do think, as I previously, thought that I'm somewhat 'okay-ish' with tilt issues, I am a super-sensitive emotional person but events in poker don't necessarily has to involve high emotional-curve, well, obviously you have to love and have something about the game to play it for so long, but it is something in our perception of events and their meaning to us.

So, this July I've started playing some 45mans 0.5$, I played alright without any ICM preparations, I was doing OK-ish.
Missed zoom, mostly focused on zoom now and occasionally play MTT's for fun as I do enjoy them.

Before I started this July, I was playing video game called World Of Tanks and invested like 100e of my poker BR, which has left me with just about 50$. this month I was able to climb to my current BR which consists 160$.

half of it from MTT's and sngs and the other half from cash (zoom nl2/nl5, fr/sh, regular tables also netted me 11$:>)

meh, for some reason I changed my Theme for default and graphs ain't cool that way anymore

I laughed at myself so hard and closed all tables and went to sleep.

I hope I will be able to keep playing and my city won't be under Hamas attack again, and I hope there will be as little casualties as possible, and god-will-give there will be peace asap. !!!
