SpoilerHuuuuuge wall of text coming! Hey everyone, now that I have been a member for quite a while and have loads of free time on my hands, I think it's a good idea to start a blog here! Mostly because, though I am quite disciplined, I feel like having a blog here will get me even more motivated to pursue my goals! In this blog I will keep track of my poker progress, as well as some real life things. About Me I'm a 19 year old guy from the Netherlands. Last year I graduated from high school, and this year I started studying Economics & Business Economics at university. However, this study turned out to be the wrong one for me, so I decided to drop out after the first few months. That means I have a lot of free time on my hands now, which I can, among other things, spend on poker! :) I have a pretty standard job at a local supermarket, where I make about €500 a month, so that's ~$650 a month. Compared to most people my age, that's a pretty steady income. And I'm glad I have it, because poker unfortunately does not quite give me the steady income I'd like just yet. Sports is something that's very important to me. I'm a fanatic volleyball player, training twice a week + having one match each week, as well as providing training for a youth team full of 12-13 year olds twice a week. Those kids are quite difficult to handle from time to time, but it's a lot of fun! That's actually one of the things I'm the most proud of in my life so far, because it's absolutely great to see those children grow because of your own hard work and effort. Unfortunately, I am dealing with a rather severe injury at the moment. My left leg is overloaded, so I have not been able to play myself for the past 4 or 5 weeks, and unfortunately I won't be able to for at least 6 more weeks. This really bothers me, because I've already had 3 injuries before in the past 3 years, so I'm getting pretty sick of it. I'm also a very fanatic FIFA player! I'm pretty decent at it, but whenever I'm losing, it's obviously always the game's fault! As a result, XBOX controller's are getting thrown through the windows quite regularly. Stupid game just hates me obviously, even though I don't make any mistakes. Spoiler:coolface: About My Poker I started playing poker basically as soon as I turned 18. I was pretty terrible though, but soon found out about PS. Cash games never really appealed to me at that time, so I started playing MTTs. Mostly small ones. Once I decided to play a bigger $4 tournament with about ~3k people in it, and managed to ship it for about ~$2200. I pretty much completely luckboxed it though :f_biggrin: However, this win did encourage me to start studying a lot, because obviously I wanted to get more of those results. And sure enough, after a lot of studying, time and hard work, I managed to get a 3rd place in a $16 tournament (that I satellited into for $1) earning me a very nice $3600! This time I actually played fairly well though, especially when stacks were getting shorter. After that, things were starting to get busier and busier, what with finals and such coming up. So I started to play some cash games, starting all the way at NL2, because I had basically no experience in them yet. I did pretty well, and eventually moved up to NL5 after taking part in the beginner's course. However, those cash games never provided me the excitement that MTTs did. And so, with the second incarnation of the MicroMillions coming up, I decided to reserve some time to play a few events. And sure enough, I managed to win ~$4000 in one of the events! First place would have paid a lot more, but I was pretty happy with my third place there. My play there has also been reviewed by Jonathan Little, the video's (except the early game part) of which can be found here at PS. I was very tight there, and I have definitely started to play a much looser game, which has worked wonders for me so far! Of all this money I won, I pretty much cashed out most of it, using it to buy me a new phone, a new laptop and a new tv, and save the rest. Saving money is a great thing, imo ;) After that, I didn't play nearly as much. I didn't have a lot of time, and I didn't really want to play cash games as much. So I didn't do too much. What Now? Right now I actually do plan on getting back into cash games, but will now go SH, because I found these to actually be quite a lot of fun as opposed to FR. I have actually been getting some experience the past few weeks, and will start playing NL10 SH at poker770, because I unfortunately can't get a tracked account on stars anymore... I have already played a few hands there, and so far I have managed to get myself up ~2BI. Terrible sample size of course, but it's a start! So also, no graph yet. Aside of that, I will also continue to play MTTs at Stars, because I feel like they have the wides...
