NL4 SH, 88 against fish

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: Fish take the line of donk/call and donk again often.

From your experience what do you expect to see from villain here?

From my experience I often see some sort of weaker made hand or draw and these made hands could be 77-88,6x, some 3x, 55 and even 9x. I think that we can try to raise for thin value again (and protection) and I wouldn't make it too big, probably around 0.85 or so. I would fold to a 3-bet.

I would expect him to donk bigger on the flop with 77-88, 6x, 9x. On the flop, I mostly put him on draws.

On the turn his donk size changes drastically, and I haven`t really seen fishes take such a line with draws. Mostly they donk small amount again.

Anyway, as you said, I had to raise the turn for value.

I would personally raise again and if you get 3-bet we can fold.

That 4 doesn't change much other than keep his pairs in a similar shape (which is good for us). Of course 44/57 does get there on the turn which he could have played like this.

What line did you take?

I did fold.

For my defense, it was the last session of the day and probably one of the last hands.

Funny thing is, I just played a session, where some fish took pretty much the same line and I ended up taking him to value town.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Of course we don't want to be results oriented because sometimes they do have a better hand but that's usually a rare occurance (especially if we had a hand like A9/TT+ here).
