Matusow almost took the entire event down when he gets it in preflop with KK vs. AK of Phil Hellmuth.
Board: 7x4x2xAx3x
Matusow was devastated when the A hit on the turn and the room was in motion.
Mike Matusow is the winner of the NBC Heads-Up Championship 2013.
In the final Hand Mike doublebarrels a Flushdraw on KdJx6d2h and tank-called the Shove of Hellmuth on the turn, who had KT.
River: Jd
Congrats Mikey!
Sidenote: Hellmuth contemplated 5 minutes what to do on the turn, almost foldet KT, but clebrated like he won the entire thing, when Mike didnt snapcall.

Matusow is trying to reinvent his BADBOY personality so Full Tilt will resign him.
He thinks if he bad mouths everyone his TV time will go up, as any publicity is good publicity.
I would have more respect for him if he would just shut up and let his play do his talking for him.
Congrats on your win Mike. WTFG
I am quitting poker
Why would you do that. Mike is alot better player then most people give him credit for.
While he was in prison serving 6 months for "contempt of court" for refusing to name a person who he said could have him killed, he lost all of his on-line money. When he got out he was restacked by non other then Phil Helmuth who gave him a $5,000 loan. He turned that $5,000 into a $1,000,000 playing live and the rest as they say is history.
Oh, as a side bar, the only person to come and see him EVERY DAY (not the only person to come and see him) but the only person to visit him EVERY SINGLE DAY he was incarserated was John Jaunda.
I dont wanna be offensive in this topic. Its just that if someone asked me who I would like to win that tournament, Matusow would be the last person of that pool. But w/e, he won, maybe he has some qualities that I fail to see.

Mike is probably the last person anyone would want to see win this (Mike excluded). The old guys of poker do not enhance the game that is for sure. Most of them have the personality of a wet dish rag and being the so called "BADBOYS" of poker wears pretty thin after awhile.
I for one am glad he won as it shows the old nits can still win. ![]()
Please take my criticism of your comment earlier with a grain of salt as I was just trying to start a conversation on his win.
