Discrete mathematic was pretty hardcore 170 out of 210 people didn't pass... Last exam left: Operating Systems at Sunday. I'll learn how to do exercise and I'll prepare good crib. This exam has a lot theoretical questions, I don’t like that kind of questions because I believe that in age of smartphones we don’t need to remember such things, we can google it in a two sec so what’s the point in learning them. I believe they should test how well we think and how well we solve problems. In this case it’s my way or highway, I won’t waste energy for learning stuff I’ll forget in a few weeks that’s why I am goona grind a lot and cheat a lot on the exam ♦
1) Fold vs donks w/o TP +
2) Don’t x/c as pfr just play b b x/f
3) Let agro fish bet a lot x/c w/ sets etc.
4) If we are not afraid any draw let fish bet gay size bets
5) Don’t slowplay just x/r and bet on 4s board w/ As
6) Jam more vs fishes they xb worse and bet better hands
and pretty interesting hand:
BB: $4.29 (107.3 bb)
UTG: $4.41 (110.3 bb)
MP: $4 (100 bb)
CO: $4.92 (123 bb)
Hero (BTN): $4 (100 bb)
SB: $3.99 (99.8 bb)
Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q♥ A♥
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.12, CO folds, Hero calls $0.12, SB calls $0.10, BB folds
Flop: ($0.40) Q♠ 5♦ 3♦ (3 players)
SB checks, MP bets $0.28, Hero calls $0.28, SB folds
Turn: ($0.96) Q♦ (2 players)
MP bets $3.60 and is all-in, Hero folds
guy was reg 18/11 agr 2 3b 2 265hands, he played something like 6 tables
meta game: he pissed me off, he rasied me twice / three times on dry boards, and 3b me twice. I folded everything but because I didn't like him I waited 2 minutes on every table with my decisions and I waste him ~4 min on 6 tables. He was relly pissed at me. I didn't want to use this meta game because he might think that I might think and this is just sick... What do you think about this hand.
I don't think that he ever does that with a better hand than yours. Whatever he thinks about you, if he has a better hand he would probably try to take some value by betting close to pot, not overbetting that big. Fishes some times do that when they have the nuts but I don't think I have ever seen a reg at these stakes overbet like this for value.
Just my opinion though
I’ve thought in the same way during game. But what stopped me from calling was that: he is “reg” and when reg make some weird movement it’s usually means nutz. Our meta game could change something because I was really annoying ♦ That’s why I’ve thought about call otherwise it was fold. Anyway I thought in that way: I no need to make hero calls on NL4 in spots like that to be winning poker player and folding here decrease variation. If I would have AdQ it would be no brainer but it was hard because it was top of my folding range in this spot.
Now I can spend a lot of time on poker:

Today I’ve been learning and making SR for two and a half hour or so. I am glad I can do it all day. Of course I’ve been on gym. Tomorrow I’ll watch first Gordon movie again. I’ve seen it once but I decided to not watch second one until I’ll do all the homework and I did. Few days ago I’ve seen Saw. Movie was pretty nice, I like it. I don’t know why people say it’s too brutal.
Tomorrow I’ll spend some time on improving my mindset it’s pretty god but it always can be better. Probably I’ll read next chapter of The Chimp paradox. Awesome book! I think it can be more useful than The Poker Mindset at this moment. As always I’ll make SR I very like the idea of play tighter and more tables. I can easily play 6-10 tables and make table selection at the same time. I still make some notes doing this and after game I have more hands to make SR.
Today I had a conversation with hot chick on the bus stop. I asked her about something and we were talking for a bit. I would love to say that after a while I took her hand, kissed it and said to her: “Be my valentine” and after that I took her to cheap hotel, bought some cheap champagne and made an awesome kinky sex, but it wasn’t be true, not yet. I had an awesome idea. Every day I am gonna talk with one chick, no matter about what. It may be something like: “ughm, what hour is it?” or it may be something like: “Hey, when I saw you for the very first time I knew that if I don’t come to you and don’t say at least: “hey” I will be angry at myself, so I’ll say it now; “hey I am Paul” “ I must build habit of talking with girls. It comes very natural on the bus stop I want to improve this skill. I am addicted to those emotions I get. It’s like drug going thru my veins I fell fuckin’ awesome for at least one up to two hours.
The most important lesson from 14.02.2013 is:
I must to improve my game every day because this is what wining players do.
I find out article in Polish Community
It’s about Andre Coimbra guy who have pretty nice challenge. He has one year to go from 100$ up to 100 000$. In two weeks he earned 7000 $ I was shocked when I’ve read that he make SR and work on improvement of his game every day. If guy like him work on his game every day that means I must do it too. It’s funny that I used to think that I don’t have time for learning I must playing. Right now I think that I don’t have time to not learning, I must learn and play to achieve what I want achieve.
My next SR:
1) Folds more vs raise on F
2) Thin v-bet fishes on the river w/ TP
3) Vs no aggressive fish if FD hit the board and fish’s stack size is ~2xpot IP I should b/f ~50% pot size on T. Shove R if fish doesn’t donk PSB / shove otherwise fold
4) Raising 2pair for value on 4-to-straight board is nearly always not the best option. Unless villain is really bad the bottom of his calling range will bet sets, often just straights.
We are going to make Gordon's study group if someone want to join just let me know.

I waste too much time doing things that do not matter at all.
I will now do a session review after each session too.
All the best,

I've changed my approach. Now SR is the most important thing of the day I can’t wait to do it tomorrow. Because of it I can play more tables. I think about everything before the game and while I am playing I can be focus on game not on what I should do and on building game plan.
Today I am tired. I’ve been playing for four hours or so. I’ve changed my mind because I wanted to go on Martial Arts classes but I decided to go for a walk and play more with fishes. Martial Arts take ~4 hours and walk take 40 min. Tomorrow I’ll have ~3k hands to make SR. I want to work hard on my poker skills and go up with limits pretty fast. I want to play nl25 or nl50 and earn money to spend it on my poker skills. I mean coaching, videos, etc.
The most important lesson from 15.02.2013 is:
Do this fuckin’ warm up! It’ll save a lot of money. For first ten minutes of play, if you don’t know what to do, just fold.
Today I’ve skipped warm up one time. Just one time and I’ve lost 3 BI in first 5 minutes of game. I am glad I’ve improved my mindset. Two weeks ago I wouldn’t play my A game after that, right now I needed 5-10 minutes to start playing my A game. Of course I did some minor mistakes but the point is that I’ve played pretty well. I must do this warm up. Otherwise my first 5-15 min of game suck.
It seems soon I’ll go on NL20.
Since 13.02.2013:

I've changed few things and everything goes pretty well.
Latter on I'll write something. Still I want to play just one more sesion.
The most important lesson from 15.02.2013 is:
People who you spend your time with have huge impact on you. Watch out with who you decide to spend your time with.
It’s funny because I have a talk with one guy and he told me he play a lot. He told me that sometimes he even can play for 4 hours in a row. Then I’ve changed what I believe is normal for me. It used to be play 2 hours a day and now it’s something like 4-5 hours and 2-3 hour long SR.
I think I have obsession about poker. It started few days ago I think about it all the fucking time. When I wake up I think what I’ll do on my SR. When I go to the gym I think about ranges and hands I’ve played. When I hang out with girls I think how they look without clothes and what sizing I should use preflop. Naah just kidding girls are cure for my obsession while I am hang out with them, or fight, or work out I don’t think about poker and I think it’s good to have some break but I know something for sure I don’t want to be balanced.
I want to be best poker player. I want a lot things from my life, adventure, girls, travels, nice body, nice cloths but right now poker is priory nr. 1. I will spend most of my days to be better at it. I will also do some stuff to improve my mindset to be better poker player. I won’t gave up on girls or work out or martial arts because it helps me stay in shape anyway if I have to choose between poker and something else I will chose poker.
I don’t know what the fuck happened with me but I feel like I am in love. Not with someone but with something. I can call it passion or obsession but to be honest I don’t give a damn fuck how to call it I know I want to spend most of my time on it. I know I want to study hard, work hard on it. It’s a great feeling and I can’t wait to wake up tomorrow go to uni pass exam and come back home because after that I spend my time on poker.
Exhausted and happy I am ready to go to sleep. Today was great day I’ve been doing SR for 3 hours and I’ve been playing for five and a half hour
PS. I have 396E so tomorrow I can try to shoot NL20 it's very good time becasue there are a lot of fish at Sundays.
Yeah i like your post.I hope you do what it takes to master the game and i hope you will not be dissappointed at the finish line. You can do it man.
Thanks a lot dude! Tomorrow is going to be huge session review! I didn’t do it today because I was at school and I was passing last exam. Last two days I’ve been playing ~7k hands so session review is going to be pretty huge.
I forgot to put my last sessions review conclusions:
1) Don’t slowplay KK/AA preflop
2) Do not play weird lines preflop it lead to problems on postflop
3) Let fish pot donk when board is dry and you have overpair
4) Jam on R if I have FH and opponent may have str8
5) x/r after another guy called twopair+ no draws fold AA/KK
6) don’t play b x/c x/c play straight forward cb b x/f w/QQ 369K
7) people don’t play x/c x/r || c r w/ sets on monobaords they caldown or raise F fold str8 on mono when you get raised
8) raise sets on F even vs nit on coordinated boards like 587r
9) bet QQ KK on Axx ss boards OOP you will have a lot of trouble playing this OOP. You just should bet bet x/f
10) Don’t put yourself into hard spots by x/c
11) Vs calling station fish bet 2/3 2/3 2/3 in 3b pot monotone w/TPTK IP
Tomorrow I probably write down some conclusions about my game because I am going to change it a bit. I should improve my preflop game a bit to be more aware. I want to have my isolation rage and so forth. It will help me at nl20 because there people tend to be more aggressive preflop.
The most important lesson from 17.02.2013 is:
People on micro don’t fold enough. There are much less fold equity than I’ve thought.
Micro game is no foldem holdem. I shouldn’t do to many bluffs on the river I should go straightforward for value. Even if I see guy don’t have flush on suited board I’ve raised those dudes few times on River and they usually called me. I was angry a bit but then I realized that’s great I should bluff I should play like this with value hands! I am going to put a lot of hands to evaluation to see do I get enough value from hands.
Nice conclusions, but these should only serve as a reminder.
You can not use such specific tactics all the time since most plays are very opponent dependent. For example, sometimes it's good to slowplay AA, and it's definitely not good to always barrel TPTK vs stations, you have to read the board and see if it hits villains range. Sometimes it's optimal to get 2 streets of value. These are just examples and I'm not saying that what you wrote is not true or that those are not good lines, just be careful and think the hand through while you're playing.
w8ing for results of these conclusions ![]()

You are an example to me in your determination, i'm a lazy bastard. But i haven't seen any significantly difference between NL25 and NL10.But this can differ from poker room to poker room i guess.
@ mihninho
When you start earning good enough from poker to make living from it I bet you will play much more and playing a lot won’t be a problem. You still do a lot of things so if you start treat poker as your top priory there won’t be any problem with motivation and this whole laziness. Right now you just don’t earn good enough and it’s not your top priory but we’ll go higher and we’ll earn more ![]()
@ pokerprons
You damn right! I must remember when I am doing notes to write vs who they played their gameplan. They may make 3 barrels w/ TPTK vs CS and they can make just two 2/3 barrels vs reg. w/ TPTK. Of course I use my notes as a reminder. There are few exceptions but it helps me while playing. It reminds me what leaks I may have and I think about it while playing. I don’t always use it but it’s a good place to start. Sometimes I do few excetpions
My nerd’s brain demand to understand how everything work, 3bets weren’t an exception. I like use math everywhere I can because it helps me understand things and I did it with 3bets. I was bitching a bit that on NL20 it’s a bit harder because people tend to make much more 3bets and raise more on flop and blah blah blah and that’s why I should make my preflop range and blah blah blah. That was bullshit and mihninho was absolutely right. There is no big difference betwen NL10 and NL20. I give it second chance and I shot again and it works pretty well. People are similar to those from NL10. I was talking something about 3bets and some math. I will share with you something that was really surprising for me.
When I was in my way to martial arts I was doing some calculations on equilab on my smartphone. Yeah I am such a nerd and I am such a crazy about all this poker things that I take equliab everywhere with me. We even sleep close each other, but pssss don’t tell it anyone it’s my little secret. So I was doing my little calculations and this is what I find out:
Vs 20% range (20%!! It’s like all range TAG player) cards win:
AA 84,5%
KK 76,5%
QQ 70,5%
JJ 65%
AK 62,5%
TT 59%
AQ 59%
99 54%
88 51%
77 49%
You see what’s the interesting thing is here? There is pretty big difference between AA and KK, between KK and QQ, but there isn’t any difference between 88 and 77, 99 and 88 it’s pretty much the same cards. I used to think that vs mega agro opponents I can push AQ and 88+ but 88 vs 20% range is coinflip. Who the hell will push 20% range. For me this is something great because now I understand better few concepts of poker eg. Thight play etc. All this talking about Should I open KQ or QJ is such a bullshit because it’s really not matter that much. I have few ideas how I can use this in practice and we will see how it works.
Today I am not most proud person in the whole world. I’ve been playing only for three hours and I’ve been learning poker for one hours or so and I did two hours long session review. So it’s only 6 hours. I like the idea of doing poker for eight to ten hours a day. For my defense I was doing things that have positive impact on my mindset and my game as well. I was at martial arts training.
Training was pretty hardcore I’ve thought I am gonna spit my lungs out. There was 30 minutes sparring, we were changing our opponents I was choosing guys from advance group. I thought I will die from exhaust but I was keep fighting whit those sons of the …. Who were attack me from right, from left side. They were evading my punches and gave me punch back. They were blocking my punches and gave me punch back. I was like a punching bag for them but I screamed for more and more. That was like tilting at windmills but I’ll defeat them I don’t know long I need to fight with them to learn how to do it but it doesn’t matter. That was one of the best training I’ve ever had. I like challenges like that and I definitely must do everything to fight with advance group. I’ll learn much faster.
My second excuse was that I was at home and I was going to grind but then my phone called. I didn’t knew the number but I answered it. “Yeah?” “Hi, why you never called me?” I knew who was calling. I know her by her voice. “Oh hi!! it’s an aschole thing, what’s up?”, “nothing much what are you doing”, “I am talking with you babe”, “oh yeah that what I’ve thought, where are you?”, “at home I am just back from training”, “ah so you don’t want to hang out?”, “You bet I do!”, “Great where do you want to meet?” “Hmmm at my place, it’s the best place to meet”, “Come something closer to me”, “Naaah I am to tiered for this, I would love to meet with you but at my place” so I said that maybe different time and I hang up the phone. She called two minutes later and said: “Hi, I am going out from home, tell me with bus stop”. She’s really great and cute girl. I was really glad she come at my place and of we went for a walk.. ♦ It was great after I come back at home I was grinding like a crazy and I decided to write longer post because I didn’t write something longer for a while.
My session review thoughts:
1) Don’t call small river bets w/o TP (?)
2) Don’t 3bet mr OOP w/ OP on dry board they tend to call it anyway, you waste money on it
3) Don’t bet vs missed cbet w/ air on lose guys OOP
4) If you call beasue of fish w/ weak kicker don’t call TP vs reg who bet with fish in pot when fish fold
5) Let agro donk bluff just play like fucking calling station x/c x/c x/c
6) Value bet higher on R after they donk donk because when they were bluffing they won’t call it but when they have some value hand it’s no difference between calling 1 / 2 and 2 /3
7) If someone 3b a lot it doesn’t mean you can push him w/ A high when he called your 4b
8) Raise fish on R w/ strong made hand
9) Short / fish on blinds open thighter
10) Don’t fold river vs x/r maniacs
11) Call more often top two on raise on R
The most important lesson from 18.02.2013 is:
Don’t care too much about fold to 3bets look for math behind it. It will be problem later on.

Today I've been playing for 4 hours and I think it's pretty nice because I was hanging out with one girl and long story short we spent three hours or so walking and making fun. It was our first meeting and I think it was pretty good. Anyway I spend a lot of time on her. I realized that because poker is my top priory nr1 I must chose do I hang out with chick or do I go to gym / martial arts. Because rest of the time I must to spend on poker.
The most important lesson from 19.02.2013 is:
Even if someone looks like maniac I must have very good notes to not fold TPTK vs x/c x/r line

My mindset is much better. I use few logical questions to keep on going and play pretty well without anger.
SR:
1) Axx board b b w/ QQ JJ KK OOP you don’t know how to play this when calling
2) Value not bluffs unk b x/c x/c w/ QQ Kxxxx FD on
3) Don’t do pot control on FD boards just bet twice
4) Calldowns too much AA vs lead from fishes
5) b/f w/JJ on Txx board after SQZ
The most important lesson from 20.02.2013 is:
Balanced play is overated on micro. I should go for max value rather than try to balance my game.
The hand with JJ i think you should raise there on the flop with a strong opponent but as played is f....ing good :).
I would have played it with a stack off on the turn (the AQs hand).
I really like the balancing thing ;).Not only for micro's.
