What is the idea of calling pre?:)

I think calling pre is ok, dont mind fold either.
I think 86s plays decent and we are still very deep. You think its a fold pre?

I think you calling range is way to loose.
This is from a practical , EV maxing point of view ofc.
If you have the postflop skillz of pleno or IFS go aheads. Probably from a GTO point of view my idea of an 'optimal' defending range is way too nitty.

Point is in HU you are not looking to play GTO , you are looking to play as +Ev as possible.
To reduce the issue of our problems with playing oop , we tighten up our oop range.
Even more so now we know villain is aggro.
This has one additional upside , being the fact villain will get the feeling we are playing back postflop alot when we see a flop oop (but actually this is normal , because we have a stronger range).

The shallower we get , the more highcard value and raw equity matter. For that fact , 86s is a pretty worthless hand , since even if he would be Or 100% we are only having Board:

Equity Winst Split
MP2 46.24% 43.82% 2.43% 86s
MP3 53.76% 51.33% 2.43% random

Ofcourse he's or tighter.
So i would advise being very cautious with these types of hands and i suppose tighning up from the bb wil make you more profits

Sidenote: I call 22-99 and don't 3bet it :)

Great post thank you.

Why not 3bet 22-99? I think its much easier to play these hands when you 3bet inst of calling them

Because you are too deep and playing these marginal pairs oop with 3 streets to go is just -Ev :)
