btw, in SNG's with shallower SPR that would seem like a std r/call but with higher PTSR in cash games its going to generally be a big error.

In game I raised since I thaught I wouldn't represent that much, but reviewing now. I have quite lot better in my range here. QQ/JT most of the time and he can think I slowplay my sets. 33/KK, I would always c-bet. AA mayby not since I block a lot of combo's where I get action of, but even then I think I would, but obv he doesn't know this

After raise it is then a quite obv fold. Since I am basiccally hoping for K or Q♦x :diamond:, where he can easily have JT/33, sometimes A3/AQ

Hello there liessens, I hope you are well and enjoying Bootcamp?

Your opening post about your mum was funny! You also have some very interesting stuff going on in your thread and it would be great if you would update it for us. This would enourage more cross-thread discussions as well of course. Just a reminder is all. :)

March on,

Mal.

Last week I was quite lazy, but starting of today I will be getting again the max out the bootcamp. I will take a break in only preflop game. Preflop is still the fundementals of all, but I need some variation and since it is the main theme in the seminars I will still improve their.

I will probaly play the last 2weeks al most no poker, but just see videos/take notes/think about the concepts...

So I started the work again. First I am seeing some vids that I all ready have seen, but doesn't take any notes. Stupid me :f_mad:

First Three Great Lines You're Probably Not Taking...

So the first line.

check in stead of standard looking c-bet and call 3streets down
-oop
-with iniative
-dry boards
-pretty strong hand(can call 3barrels on all or at least most boards). Mostly medium toppairs
-very aggressive reg behind
-really difficult to get 3streets of value
-don't want to play for stacks

Yes I don't take this line ever. I sometimes do with worse hands, like KK on Axx boards calling 3barrels. I think the first time you use it against an oponnent is really great and it is clearly more +ev than c-betting yourself twice, but after that their are quite a lot of leveling/dynamic thing to think about.

First lets say villian thinks about this spot in level1.
-he will not tripple barrel anymore and doesn't 2barrel that often So we often can c/c once or twice with quite bad showndownvalue and in extreme spots we can even think about reversed floating
-he will attack or c-bets more(mostly by floating), since or real strong holdings(strong TP+) aren't enough combo's to ballance or air/weak holdings. So we need to c-bet again or pretty strong hands(most of time medium toppairs) and defend these quite strong since villian is all ready quite aggro and will be probaly even more aggro with this history.

This is still quite good, but when villian is on higher level. We will get in complete leveling war. Since villian probaly knows that we probaly take this line only once and so doesn't adapt and then we will start again of beginning, and we mayby stay using this line this time, but this time villian will adapt mayby. So at this point we completely get in guessing game or villian is adapting or not and wich % of time and it is quite difficult to balance your ranges completely.

So gameplan on dry boards oop with iniative against aggressive regs.
level0 reg: aggro regs that have just one gear and will not adapt, but keep firing away.
-just keep using this line(possible even widen the range) until he becomes a level 1 reg
level 1 reg: sees your line and will overadapt/adapt to late back.
-use this line once and after that use gameplan mentioned above. Once he adapts, adapt back
level 2reg or above: will constantly adapt at you and probaly faster and better than yourself
-use line possibly once. Afterwise get to balanced gameplan, where you c-bet complete range(mayby c/f some combo's) and play further of their with in mind he will float a real lot. So you need to be willing to c/c turn/river a lot

Addition: you obv still need to know which level your oponnent is. I think most aggro regs regs at NL50-200 are level 1, with quite some level 0, but this is most of time quite clear. Higher in stakes you get more and more level2+

Quite deep annalyse. I hope it make some sense :P Going furthert with some other concepts

Overbetting as bluff

Is a concept I really like since it works really well, if used in the right spots.

-mostly against capped ranges
-will still get quite often calls with regular bet of his weak range
-maximum of fe(turn a lot with draws)

2main categories. River and turn. Flop I really don't have seen often overbet spots. Since monsterdraws can still often call/raise and ranges are al most never capped.

I will post some hand examples

1)First a bad example. In game I thaught. He never has sets/Jx since he will bet that himself on turn, but JT/QT/JJ are full in his range and possible even AJ, but probaly c/r that on turn, since I can easy have picked up a flushdraw on turn. So really to much nutscombo's makes this a really bad overbet.

2)A close spot. First I really don't know what I am doing on the flop. I am probaly tilted since I lost in total 5bi against this reg(really hated myself for joining him a second time). River we have obv a bet. He has almost no straight/flush in his range. Only problem is that he can possible have some nutsy flushes(K/Q high), but now I am revieuwing the hand. I really don't know what sizing I like(standard/pot/overbet). I think I like more a standard bet, since he will probaly fold also a real lot against that and will be clear +ev, so overbet needs to work almost always to be more +ev

Hey,

What do you think about overbetting if the river was an offsuit blank? Like nothing that completes the draw? Usually I think your perceived range would be to bet the flop with straight draw and generally most of their calling range will be pair+draw so don't really like it on this river.

I forget to post my answer completely.

I guess you mean hand 1? I don't think we can ever overbet on any river since we can't rep anything. The only thing we can mayby rep is slowplayed AJ/J9, but sets/2pairs/toppairs. We all c-bet on the flop.

This was my first idea, but know I think overbetting is mayby fine since his range is also clearly capped and he surely can put me on AJ/J9, so is surely is quite decent spot to overbet.

Also had quite interesting hand in live game. Game was 7handed. I open 33 to 3bb in utg+2. I have at this point a nitty image. Since I was completely card death+ really bad position at the table. utg+3 3bets me to 8.5bb. The bb coldcalls. I have both players sure covered and I think we are around 100bb deep. So I think I have good enough of odds/implieds and I flat.

Flop comes AhKh3x. So nice i hit my set, but AA/KK hit higher set. Utg+3 c-bets around half pot, bb fold. I obv can raise get it in against KK+ AK, but I figure I don't realy need to protect so I flat. Turn brings A wath obv sucks sine AK beats my by know. So I just c/c again for around half pot. River brings a 6 I think. I check and I am really happy when he checks behind since it would suck like hell if he continues since it would be really close. So if he barrels river I have fold.

I am by know also really doubting about board texture. Since I thaught the flush also completed at the turn, but 2 A  really can't
