Pre-Flop: (90) K♣ J♦ dealt to Hero (BB)

Flop: (270) J♥ 3♥ K♠ (2 Players)
Hero checks, UTG bets 60, Hero raises to 240, UTG raises to 1,320, Hero raises to 1,515 and is All-In, UTG calls 195

Turn: (3,300) Q♣ (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

River: (3,300) Q♠ (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Am I meant to fold KJ to a minraise on my BB? I *think* I played the flop good, they just got lucky :(

I fold preflop, utgminraisingrange often has u beat and sometimes has u dominated. As played I go broke on flop as well, allthough I make a bigger reraise to his minbet.

Hi p0kerQT,

I prefer to fold KJo preflop. Even with a loose/wide opening range for UTG, KJo still doesn't play very well, and is dominated very often. As played, on the flop, I would check/raise to about 330 (just under pot size for him to call), and obviously shove over his 3bet.

Would you min-raise UTG wif anything worse den KQ preflop in an sng is all u need to ask urself... cuz that wud give u some kinda idea of wat kinda expected value u wud kinda of get in the long run. If u just hit a dry K, ur putting yourself in a pretty tough spot in a full ring sng.

IMHO.

I cant see what utg had but imo you played it fine.
I would call double bb with pretty much atc at that level, even from utg raise. Once you hit 2 pair its all over.

Hi! I am usually very suspicious when UTG minraise but nevertheless you have good odds to call here. Especially if u have seen him to do such raises...on the flop you are obviously favourite and of course it is right to go all-in...i am guessing you are beat anyway with those 2Q...did he have the rockets? :)

I don't really think that his minraise means very much. Nevertheless we are behind against his range and we have to play oop on the flop which is reason enaugh not to call here even if the odds look good.

Hi hamusuta, at the low limits, this isn't the right sort of reasoning. It's sort of close to the right line of reasoning in a perfectly informed, reasonable world, but in these worlds, we would also not be able to make a profit in poker. People minraise all sorts of total trash.

Btw, here is my min-raise range UTG: . ;)

I'd had my blind raised nearly every time n folded nearly all the time, so KJ seems like a good hand then I guess. Yeh he had AA so made higher 2 pair

imo you made the right call and he got lucky on the river
