Is leading turn ok with overpair+nfd?

Is bluffcatching riv for this price on this runnout reasonable? How much does betsize
impact on this decision?

Thanks - Please be brutal - I'm a plo noob :)

Check/folding the flop is pretty standard since you've missed it quite badly.

Anyone with 2 pair would bet this flop and the turn card is largely irrelevant. Even against 2 pair on the turn you have decent equity with your overcards, gutshot straight and flush draw. You can have around 18 outs against 2 pair and I think we can rule out a set so I would just bet full pot on the turn and probably play the same on the river with a check/call though shoving a river is also fine here.

Can you confirm, if we shove riv is it for value or as a bluff? (serious question :) ) Also, do you mean shoving riv as played on turn (with our 1/2p bet size) or only if we had potted turn?

Thx

It's a value bet a river shove as you're now beating 2 pair.

Hi,

Can you tell me Ribbo why do you want to play this river x/call? Our perceived range here is always over pair and I dont think that anyone would bet without trips/fullhouse.

Also, there is no point in betting river because noone without trips would call us so we wont get calls with worse hands (only KK?).

Tim64 I saw few hands of yours and I dont like your min raises from UTG. On UTG your range is pretty strong, you'll be playing whole hand without position so you should charge callers with bigger bet size preflop.

Villain has a lot of busted draws in his range and he knows he can't win the pot with those. So the only way for him to win the pot is to bluff the river. I have seen villains bluffing in that spot so often that I would always call that.

in 3b pots? from my exp ppl on plo50 are pretty straight forward in 3bet pots especially on the river. For me maybe there would be room for thin valuebet vs KK/QQ but to x/c is like valuebetting myself...

In single raised pot x/call looks better because our range wouldnt be so overpair heavy.

If you check-fold river there, isn't that a bit exploitable?

while villain knows my cards i dont think so.

It probably depends on our 3bet range - mine is around 6-8% (BU) so its pretty much over cards heavy and noone should bluff this spot against me knowing that I would call with over pair (and this is probably 80% of my range another 20% = trips) because I would cbet all my rundowns on the flop as they hit pretty hard on that board.

the other thing is that with trips I would let villain bluff busted draws as he cant call with worse so the whole play wont be that exploitable.

Flop check gives away that hero has overpair a lot of time. So if opponent knows that you will check-fold the river here with an overpair, you really think he won't start betting in these spots with his worse hands?

And is trips relatively any stronger hand here than aces?

How unk can know that? :) He should assume that we call (as I would bluff this spot like...never)

While we sqz pre its most of the time with aces so we've got trips with the best kicker while villain can't have 2 pair hand as he would raise this hand on the turn (especially with out 1/2 pot size bet ott)

I was talking about the situation where your default play is to fold here. If I see you doing that couple of times (as a villain or just sitting at your table) I would make a note. Your hand looks a lot like an overpair there on the river, and if I suspect that you fold it to a river bet where opponent doesn't really rep much I would make that bet quite often. So I would be able to exploit you a lot. I mean, it's enough to call if opponent bluffs there over 1/4 of time.

And to clarify, I am not talking about this exact situation where the opponent is sort of unknown. I am talking about the problem in folding this river as a default play.

If you don't think opponent can't have 2 pairs+ on turn, the only hand you are losing to on the river is backdoor trips. I think that AA is pretty much as good there as AA2x would be. Of course there is a slight difference cos sometimes opponent has 2xxx hand. But I think that it's a small portion of his 3bet calling range.

I understand - probably against villain bluffing weak (no action on the flop) busted draws in such a stupid spots I would adjust and let you bluff but playing vs unk I assume he's tought proccess is at the same level as mine.

Its maybe too much of a "I know that he knows that I know" but for me without reads that would be x/fold in here.

This is interesting. I tried to think if it's good or bad but couldn't make my mind. Then I begun to think about myself, and I am always assuming that unknown opponent (0 hands or so), especially with under 100bb stack, is worse than me. And I begun to wonder if that's a good thing or not.

:)

I've got to start playing with 84bb! :) deep-unk-fish stack ;)

Back to the hand If you call this spot all the time its exploitable, isnt it?

I would play the whole hand like that:

preflop: 3bet
flop: check
turn: pot bet
river: check/fold or thin value from KdK, QQJ, etc.
