Mini update :f_biggrin:

All my life (poker life) was obssesed about EV line, seeing graphs with guys running way over EV line, comparing with my own graphs and running almost every month under EV.

So this month I take a look on my EV and observed that I run almost 30BI's over EV....wtf...I always thought that if I am a winning player this "RUN" will obv make the difference between a big winning month or a normal one.

But surprise:)
there are hands for example this one

CO: $52.83 (105.7 bb)
BTN: $68.37 (136.7 bb)
Hero (SB): $90.10 (180.2 bb)
BB: $58.01 (116 bb)
UTG: $68.67 (137.3 bb)
MP: $67.44 (134.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 3 3
UTG folds, MP raises to $1.50, CO folds, BTN calls $1.50, Hero calls $1.25, BB folds

Flop: ($5) 5 6 3 (3 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $2, BTN calls $2, Hero raises to $8, MP calls $6, BTN folds

Turn: ($23) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $17.50, MP calls $17.50

River: ($58) K (2 players)
Hero bets $63.10 and is all-in, MP calls $40.44 and is all-in

Hero showed 3 3 and lost (-$67.44 net)
MP showed K K and won $136.38 ($68.94 net)

This guy is a whale,my play is standard so standard suckout,I run ~ EV because when I invest my money I am behind(AI EV)...
OFC other scenarios late pos with QQ,vs a guy who 3b 14% this is standar value stack off, let's say JJ maybe AQs (depends on his 5b tendencies)...
Those are obv ~EV when u put ure money JJ vs KK and lose, but overall vs his range I think Hero made a +EV play..So bla bla bla

From now on I will disable EV statistics off my HEm,because I think it can influence my game,in a BAD way...
If someone want to share some thoughts glad to talk about it...until then GL!!!

BTW...2nd time when I try 100NL and go on downsing :)
Must be something special trying to play higher limits on Stars :f_love:
I am happy about Sn challenge I'm way over my initial plan, but I am not considering myself a RB pro,and I think I have what it takes to win NL50 3-4bb's on STARS...

all at NL50 i presume which is awesome! also, seems like a tough fold, but vs particular villain seems like an almost must-laydown.

glad to see ure replay:)TY.

I am runing HOT overall at 50NL...but bad at 100NL(and the field obv is more tough).
So I make decent money for living, don't see why should I force, move up (for now)..Yup 50NL!!

About the hand...I made a INSTA FOLD...because:

There are so many bad rivers for my hand and this guy doesn't have a bluff for sure(and especially don't min raise a FD).
The question is,does this VIllain Overplay QQ,KK???probably not...
So respect to "baluga whale theoreme" because saved me some money in this spot.

BTW...I was "hunting" this guy 3hours and when I have AA in 3b pot deep 400bb's I must lay down....

If he call,I def Value Bet OTR vs this passive fish :f_biggrin:

Hey, just saw your blog and I noticed that you said that you did not study the game much in the past and you want to change that.

This what a good guy from PS community told me today which is spot on

IMO also study more at the beginning and it will make you more money later on... Don't do the mistake I made which was grind a whole year @ 100NL to realize this...

So yeah, studying more is the way to go.

How many hours do you spend on studying per week and what does it include?

Thanks

Hello, glad to see some action in my blog:P

Yup we all know that studying is the way to go,but, there are people that play for a living,pp that play part time and those who don't need the money YET,they grow BR'lls to play higher limits(quality>quantity)

I have recently moved so I play to pay my rent, etc etc....I am lucky because regarding the financial life in RO,playing 50NL and putting the right volume offers u a great income...At 100NL is perfect(obv 3-4bb 100)....

I am not saying what is good/wrong but u need to know what you want ,and somehow fiind a middle way to succeed.

oke, this month I will play only zoom,I don't know why,I have 30k hands at 50NL and I am a loser, pff is more like a challenge for me...so I will put some effort,in studying more (also putting the right volume ~80khands) but I need to show some results.....

I have a mini schedule:
-posting trouble hands daily
-review 10-20 hands commented by coaches /daily
-playing most of the time 2tables
-watching a video /daily
-working at PF ranges ....I made some adjustments lately but I have much more to improve...

BTW...I am looking forward to get coached, but first I want to review and improve all the spots I AM AWARE OF...not trying to pay money for things that I can (with some effort figure by myself)....SO hope I can complete the month, and ofc learn a lot in 30days...

TY...SEE ya!!!

ZOOM isn't working as I expected,but I don't lose my optimistic view!!!
And would continue play 2 tables before take a decision:)

Overall I am down ~18BI's in 35k hands(don't know what happened, must find out)

Made some spew here and there,I am loosing my concentration faster at ZOOM,obv I must pay back the EV stolen last month,so :f_love:

BTW I still don't know if this guy is a RETARD or a SICK Hand reader...
I will be glad to here some opinions.I am not even trying to explain he's line, because I can't understand it,we have 250hands history..
My call preflop is discutable, but this guy is 3b way to much,so I will try to steal some pots ..
ENJOY!!!

Poker Stars, $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

BTN: $21.88 (43.8 bb)
Hero (SB): $52.82 (105.6 bb)
BB: $52.75 (105.5 bb)
UTG: $56.87 (113.7 bb)
MP: $22.88 (45.8 bb)
CO: $96.11 (192.2 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7 8
4 folds, Hero raises to $1.50, BB raises to $4.50, Hero calls $3

Flop: ($9) K 4 T (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $5.16, Hero raises to $14.50, BB calls $9.34

Turn: ($38) A (2 players)
Hero bets $33.82 and is all-in, BB calls $33.75 and is all-in

River: ($105.50) 2 (2 players, 2 are all-in)

BB showed 3 3 and won $103 ($50.25 net)

So V cbets pretty much in 3b pot.

RETARD>>>>>SICK'O>>>>>>RETARD
:f_love:votes pls :f_love:

Back 4 some updates...

Month so far

Spoiler

Nothing to say,I was expecting this run:)

Still playing zoom, starting to get history, and see the way things go...
Hope I will turn this graph upside-down till the end of the month...

BTW,if someone like to discuss theory...

We are in the BTN and facing an EP open.

The board is A :club:8 :club:K :diamond:

Should we have a raising range(bluff&value ofc) in this spot?
Or we should defend our entire range by calling.

Ty!

Hard to say, its hard for us to have bluffs since it hits UTG range well.
Vs a good reg I don't think I raise often, vs a fish/station I just have a value raising range since they're never folding their TP hands & I don't care about balancing vs them at NL50.

Also vs a reg I don't think he would barrel this board way too much so I would just flat a lot & bet vs missed turn cbets with my whole range.

Edit: Also, what are you flatting pre here vs UTG open? Assuming he is unknown I suppose?

What is EP raise, what is his cbet?

What is Hero's image with Villain? What is Hero's actual range given other players at the table?

It depends what your cold calling range is. But this flop hits UT better then the cold caller.

You will have as strong hands only AK and 88. UT will also have AA and KK.

And when you raise AK on this flop vs a regular opponent very often it will work as a bluff (not as a valubet). And villain will continue only with AA,KK, 88 and very strong draws.

You also will have QQ-99 a lot, which you don't like raising that much because you have some showdown value. And will also have AQ which have showdown value. If you raise 88 and AK here, your calling range will be very weak.

Optimally on this flop, BT vs EP you shouldn't have a raising range. I am not 100% sure, but I am pretty sure.

You could raise with 88 (3 combination) and bluff raise with 7:d8:d and 8:d9:d. Ranges don't have to be wide, just balanced.
