the cbet is definitely ok, OOP we should plan on playing more aggressive, betting is great since we make him fold hands that we are actually ahead of but has equity. we also give ourselves options to continue bluffing on later streets and get value from worse Ahighs.

i think shipping is ok since we get value from his A floats, and he may not have nutflush draws since he could have raised them on the flop.
check calling sucks since i dont expect him to bluff us too much at all and we mostly get crushed when we do check call.
check folding is just too weak and so i do like your play.

just had a huuuuuge debate with my friend about this hand and he disagrees with my river ship explaining that if i bet/fold the river like 1/4 - 1/3 pot then i'll maximise value vs things like AQ AJ and AT that hero call/bluffcatch and that i lose the min vs his nuts. i kinda see what he's saying but i ran it through equilab and it seems really bad to do this.

pot by the river = $21 and i bet like $7 and he ships $14, making the pot $42. i have to call ~$7 to win a pot of 42. i need a mighty 14% equity to make this call. true against his shipping range i'm doing pretty bad, but if we account for the possibility that he says FU and ships in with his AQ then we smash the required equity. if he has nuts + only 2 combos of AQ we have 22% equity here and it's then a mistake to fold when he ships but imo he can ship with some other stuff like AJ and some dumb A7s hand or something.

i know nothing about GTO play btw and im far from using it to justify some play, but from what i see here i'm close to the top of my range and im facing an unknown which i think means i should try to play close to GTO and that would be to never fold this river when im close to the top of my range. dunno about this tho ♦

do you think there's any merit to what he's saying about bet/folding the river? ty

your friend has a point, however when we bet less, we lose value vs Ax hands that could call us.
we also get into a awkward spot where we have to call $7 to win $42 when he shoves. if we do call, we usually get owned, and if we do actually fold, can we be confident about our decision, feel good that we saved that $7 and continue to play our Agame?

i wouldn't wanna go into GTO, it's not something i can explain well enough.
we are playing readless and because we get to the river with quite some bluffs, i would also put this hand in my value betting range. i dont think too many players can fold an A when they bink 1 on the turn in a big pot.
