villain unk. 38/17, 24 hands.

Poker Stars, $0.50/$1 No Limit Omaha Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

BTN: $82.38 (82.4 bb)
SB: $136.23 (136.2 bb)
BB: $100 (100 bb)
UTG: $204.26 (204.3 bb)
Hero (MP): $231.13 (231.1 bb)
CO: $135.01 (135 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 3 A A 2
UTG raises to $3, Hero raises to $10.50, 4 folds, UTG raises to $33, Hero calls $22.50

Flop: ($67.50) 4 3 4 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($67.50) J (2 players)
UTG bets $25, Hero calls $25

River: ($117.50) 4 (2 players)
UTG bets $114.70, Hero folds

Preflop seems like a weird spot... I didn't think we could 5b here b/c our AA are so horrible (though now I'm not so sure).

I thought ch/b OTF was ok here with not many bad turns (and some very good ones)

Turn seemed like a clear call (though I briefly considered turning my hand into a bluff with nfd blocker, which seems silly). Riv was weird. Can only put him on JJ** or AA4*. But it seems like a strange line to take as a bluff and there's not really anything we beat. I doubt he would do this with bare AA.

thx

River is one of those spots where most players are horribly unbalanced so I don't mind the fold too much. However I definitely would have shoved preflop rather than trying to second guess whether villain is doing this with something like KKQQds

Hi,

PLO Zoom I would pot pre-flop.
He can take random Axxx broadway and try to take pot down pre-flop/postflop, so you always have fold equity and good thing about AA, is that even your hand should have average 49% equity:

3dAsAc2c 49.65% 122,252 351,344
AA** 50.35% 126,404 351,344

Most players would likely run it twice, so you should split it or at least get back 100$

As played:
- not really sure what kind of flop did you want to see when you flatted pre-flop, so I would start out c-betting for value

I would always call river with third nuts. It is very unlikely someone is 4-betting JJ** and 4x seems also unlikely. He is at least representing AA**. Although since he checked flop I think you are also see that just random air or sometimes spades. Seems easy calldown to me

best regards,
