Maddy and I will be sending out our FLHE Weekly show this week and it'll probably be the last one from Tiwtch with their current policies...if we had more time we'd probably just stream straight from UStream but felt it'd be fairer to those who watch us to let us have the last podcast on Twitch and be able to move the podcast

Tonight's Agenda:

Maddy's rant on Poker Education (6 hours allotted)
Maddy's First Ever 5/T Session Review

Should be a fun one :)

Been exhausting last couple of days and I'm currently running on fumes

Had a ton of fun though last night with the Weekly LHE show and thanks so much to everyone who turned out and watched. Hope you got something out of it, even if it was just a laugh at me and maddy trolling each other

Still Premiership starts this weekend and one thing this excursion to Gibraltar is giving me is a MASSIVE poker rush and really inflating my desire to mega grind which, tbh has been lacking last few weeks, mainly due to the fact I had no idea what going self-employed actually meant, but now I do and hopefully I'm way better structured and can make the most of the rest of the year now rather than being a massive worry-bear over everything

Couple of questions for my fellow grinders on this one:

Music?

If so any recommendations/"stay-aways"??

I would recommend "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and "Livin' On A Prayer" probably aren't the correct message for grinding _biggrin: _biggrin:

Music disturbs me while playing poker, but I think it helps to get in a nice rhytmic mood at the beginning of a session. For example:

I think that whistling and singing by yourself has greater effect though and is more fun. When I start feeling a bit tilted, whistling a tune brings me relief and takes my mind off the worries =)

From my experience listening to music you have 2 results:

A) ignore the music, in that case you are just making noise.

B) pay atention to the music, so you pay less atention to poker.

So its better to no listen to music, I think that the starcraft progamer look is the best, small headphones into your ear to listen the tables sound and a noise blocker on top of that.

House music, very little words and active beats.

Well football season just started and that was some first game wasn't it? :)

Liverpool to me still have this uncanny ability to get the game of his life out of the opposition's goalkeeper and then try and throw away a good performance right at the death

This time they were bailed out by Mignolet, who btw I think is going to be rock solid for them and a very good buy, still not convinced about letting Reina out on loan though, having him and Mignolet at the club would pretty much guarantee you were getting the best out of your goalkeepers.

Interesting that Suarez didn't play, but Aspas looked sharp and Liverpool created a great deal without him. I just can't see Suarex there when the transfer window closes but on the flip side I can't see him at Arsenal either so unless Real Madrid or PSG or someone like that table £45m+ for him he's not moving either so this really is a proper standoff.

With the transfer window not closed yet there's still room for maneuver for them but I still can't see Liverpool breaking that top 4, I think 6th is about the best they'll manage unless one of the Top 5 from last season have a horror show this year....since Bale was resolnsible for 24 points Tottenhma picked up last year, he'd be a huge loss if he was to be sold but I can't see £100m changing hands for him and the only other doubt for me is how Utd perform under Moyes but even when Utd are bad they won't finish below 3rd so I'm prediciting 6th for Liverpool this year.

As for Stoke, I think Mark Hughes has a chance with them for sure, they were largely outplayed today and Bergovic (who I can't believe is still at Stoke tbh and not picked up by say Arsenal or someone similar) had a blinder but they're always a worry and a physical side and could very easily have nicked a point today if Walters hadn't fluffed his lines on the penalty. I think they'll survive this year but they're not a top half side I don't think. Probably around 14th-16th

Well Speaking of horror show DAT ARSENAL!!

A couple of their message board blew up yesterday and although there's always been a WengerOut mob yesterday just added more fuel to the fire

Without being too melodramatic Arsenal were woeful and there's no other word for it without adding an expletive and those Arsenal fans blaming the referee were plain kiddng themselves

I doubt any Arsenal fan watched MoTD but they analysed the referee's decisions and he got them spot on for the most part

1) First penalty was obvious but Agbonlahor was going away from goal so yellow card fine
2) Second penalty was a penalty, Koscielny may have got the ball but replays showed he got Agbonlahor with his trailing leg first
3) Koscielny was an idiot for going in like that having just been booked, you don't make challenges like that in the modern game, even if you miss you're risking a sending off
4) The only dodgy one was that a Villa player escaped an obvious 2nd yellow

So really the ref got 1 out of 4 major decisions wrong and even then Arsenal were already down to 10-men and creating nothing at home vs the team who finished 15th last year and right up until the end of the season were many people's favourites to be the final relegation club until they bucked their ideas up late on and Wigan ran out of time

I think Villa are better than they were last season but that should be a stone-wall 3 points for Arsenal. Liverpool had to rely on a penalty save yesterday but even if it was a draw they could point to 26 shots (15 of which were on target) and a possessed goalkeeper and 1 moment of madness rather than what was a completely limp performance.

Arsenal cannot continue like that, they're also running out of fit first teamers (on a seperate note, do Arsenal have the worst medical team in the Premiership? They can't keep anyone fit for toffee) and there's genuine fear amongst the supporters that they may even fail to qualify for the Champions League proper, Fenerbache will be right up for the game having seen that and with Arsenal's paper thin squad...

Wenger has to spend it's as simple as that, however if Arsenal lose to Fenerbache and given their "performance" this weekend, why would any top talent want to go there atm, the question was asked on the radio this weekend, you look at the difference in the performances, why would Suarez want to go to Arsenal?

Tottenham arguably have the easiest start amongst the Top 4 contenders vs Crystal Palace and I expect them to win well today

The other side who I was impressed by was Everton:

Ross Barclay looks like some talent, quick, powerful, good feet, capped it off with a good goal, one for the future definitely but you do worry a little bit if they lose Fellani and Baines (especailly the latter) but overall they'll be challenging again I think.

Spurs are still my favourites for top 4 but Arsenal really have to buck their ideas up and Everton and Liverpool won't go quietly this season

Utd very impressive and like clockwork, very clinical and Van Persie is a goal machine and it finally looks like Welbeck's disovered where the penalty box is. Why Arsenal sold Van Persie to Utd for £25m I'll never know, it just guaranteed they won't win the title but atm they've got bigger problems.

We'll see Chelsea today and City tomorrow, guess we'll find out where everything lies then...might even make some predictions :)

Well aside form this one..Cardiff will be relegated and tbh this could be a "3 came up and went back down year"

Not really, just one of the many millions of armchair managers who think just because they won the leage with QPR on Football Manager 2012 that somehow gives them knowledge about football :)

In all seriousness I did play at a pretty high level when I was 14/15, I was basically one of the final cuts before youth contracts were handed out as a pretty handy goalkeeper (well, until I completely did my ankle in and lost most of my agility, combined with 6 months with no sport which lead to a major loss of fitness)

Not saying I'm adverse to a good bet but unfortunately with Betfair offering 1.44 and 1.7 on Hull and Cardiff to get relegated I don't really see much value there :)

Ok, attmpting to walk up the Meditarranean Steps was a BAD idea and Sven is a maniac :)

Attempt 2 comign at weekend and going to do it the "make life easy" way....ouch

However, it has given me a new goal, I've done ok this year in terms of dropping weight, lost about 40lbs this year, but that's still only about 2/5ths of where I want to be so...

I'm going to make an attempt that in 1 year I will be able to do it, I'll either come back to Gib or I'll simulate the thing if I have to but it's definitely something to work towards.

Forgot to mention this, can't believe a week's gone, but the WeeklyLHEShow has moved to Justin.tv with the potential of a Twitch gambling related cull so we will be broadcasting from 21:00CET at our new location:

www.justin.tv/weeklylheshow

We'll probably still use the Twitch Channel for random cocking about but gambling related will have to go on justin.tv

Might even do that streaming thing I spoke about go knows how long ago...we'll see

ALSO

For the LHE guys in case you haven't seen it:

Highlights of each part from last night saved:

Part 1: Discussion on Soft Skills

http://www.justin.tv/weeklylheshow/b/450087908

Part 2: Going over a $60HUSNG

http://www.justin.tv/weeklylheshow/b/450088479

Sadly the chat was a bit quiet last night but some of that was down to the fact you can't use your TwitchTV handle on Justin.tv, you have to create a new account to chat. Hopefully it'll pick up in a couple of weeks

As for my coaching tonight I'm going to be playing a live session and I'm going to experiment with playing heavily split ranges and see what they do to my overall range in real time. Should be an interesting experience :)

Gonna be a long one as I'm going to be in the office pretty much all day today and I am probably going to pop in over the weekend and record a video so going to be a bit of a busy one...that said I am definitely going to see Monkeys and Dolphins before the turn round :)

What an amazing weekend I just had

First off United Lost which is ALWAYS a good weekend....sorry Red Devils

Secondly went on an amazing Dolphin Safari which resulted in us encountering a full pod of dolphins and I got about 20 minutes of footage, just incredible

Also I HAS A MONKEY!!

This little scamp decided to ambush me on the rock and sit on my shoulder...you're a monkey not a bloody parrot but still quite awesome

Additionally ran into these guys last week:

So that's plenty of pics for thread responses then :)

Let's see; haz monkey on back and surrounded by donkeys. Then it's off on safari searching for whale-type mammals. Sounds like a Saturday night session.

Just lovin' the pics and that monkey, looking like it owns the place. :f_love:
