Well Speaking of horror show DAT ARSENAL!!
A couple of their message board blew up yesterday and although there's always been a WengerOut mob yesterday just added more fuel to the fire
Without being too melodramatic Arsenal were woeful and there's no other word for it without adding an expletive and those Arsenal fans blaming the referee were plain kiddng themselves
I doubt any Arsenal fan watched MoTD but they analysed the referee's decisions and he got them spot on for the most part
1) First penalty was obvious but Agbonlahor was going away from goal so yellow card fine
2) Second penalty was a penalty, Koscielny may have got the ball but replays showed he got Agbonlahor with his trailing leg first
3) Koscielny was an idiot for going in like that having just been booked, you don't make challenges like that in the modern game, even if you miss you're risking a sending off
4) The only dodgy one was that a Villa player escaped an obvious 2nd yellow
So really the ref got 1 out of 4 major decisions wrong and even then Arsenal were already down to 10-men and creating nothing at home vs the team who finished 15th last year and right up until the end of the season were many people's favourites to be the final relegation club until they bucked their ideas up late on and Wigan ran out of time
I think Villa are better than they were last season but that should be a stone-wall 3 points for Arsenal. Liverpool had to rely on a penalty save yesterday but even if it was a draw they could point to 26 shots (15 of which were on target) and a possessed goalkeeper and 1 moment of madness rather than what was a completely limp performance.
Arsenal cannot continue like that, they're also running out of fit first teamers (on a seperate note, do Arsenal have the worst medical team in the Premiership? They can't keep anyone fit for toffee) and there's genuine fear amongst the supporters that they may even fail to qualify for the Champions League proper, Fenerbache will be right up for the game having seen that and with Arsenal's paper thin squad...
Wenger has to spend it's as simple as that, however if Arsenal lose to Fenerbache and given their "performance" this weekend, why would any top talent want to go there atm, the question was asked on the radio this weekend, you look at the difference in the performances, why would Suarez want to go to Arsenal?
Tottenham arguably have the easiest start amongst the Top 4 contenders vs Crystal Palace and I expect them to win well today
The other side who I was impressed by was Everton:
Ross Barclay looks like some talent, quick, powerful, good feet, capped it off with a good goal, one for the future definitely but you do worry a little bit if they lose Fellani and Baines (especailly the latter) but overall they'll be challenging again I think.
Spurs are still my favourites for top 4 but Arsenal really have to buck their ideas up and Everton and Liverpool won't go quietly this season
Utd very impressive and like clockwork, very clinical and Van Persie is a goal machine and it finally looks like Welbeck's disovered where the penalty box is. Why Arsenal sold Van Persie to Utd for £25m I'll never know, it just guaranteed they won't win the title but atm they've got bigger problems.
We'll see Chelsea today and City tomorrow, guess we'll find out where everything lies then...might even make some predictions
Well aside form this one..Cardiff will be relegated and tbh this could be a "3 came up and went back down year"
