Well, they are really small. The younger one is turning 2 years this winter and the older one is almost 4 years... he can talk a lot and even sing a difficult song. I love how the view on money changes after this experience... like this living space or something.. after having a small child.. it's just not taken away ever.. the child needs a place to live.. so you will always have that as well.. funny how before i had to like search for a flat or something..

I remember choosing Fixed Limit on PokerStrategy quiz to get free $50 in 2009, because i thought, No Limit is too difficult and everyone's playing that so I choose FL, and this betsizing thing looks a bit difficult. I hear at the beginning it was FL in the first Casinos so it's like a classic? it's beautiful strategy. simple...

Now I really hope to take part of the NL community and see how people are thinking in this "mainstream" version of the game

I generally play forms of poker that few others do.
FL & NL 5-Card Draw, FL 2-7 Triple Draw, NL 2-7 Single Draw, Razz, Stud and Stud Hi/Lo, PL Omaha Hi/Lo and the mixed games, like HORSE and 8-Game
The regulars are better than I am, but there's a fair number of inferior players as well.
In NLHE I managed to do OK up to about NL 10, then hit a wall.

I've been a mod for (gulp) 8 years, and so post a fair bit more that most members.

I live in Canada. PokerStrategy.com headquarters is still in Gibraltar, but mods are just members with benefits.
All we do is read posts, and occasionally edit them, or remove them if they violate our forum principles (like spam etc)

On the flop i was thinking for a while, if i just call, maybe he believes then i have something weak and he wants to try again on next street. So it does require some skills.. I was just thinking, maybe it isn't about this 2bb edge vs regulars, but like 50bb edge vs people like this guy..

you mean if the flop is Kxx without 8 and he donkbets? depending on the person.. i don't know. sometimes it's tough to get a read on people. vs loose aggressive people who play "bad", i would continue, vs tight people i would fold i guess.

I think i should learn or something.. i got Silver status somehow.. and lost 5BI last 400 hands.. maybe im not so good after all ♦ still like running +13bb/100 for 10k hands in NL2.. learning No Limit cash

Loose aggressive people play that way because it works against tight passive opponents, and there are a lot of those at NL2

Try to keep the LAGs on your right, so you have position on them most of the time.
To beat them, you need to play tighter, and even more aggro when you hit.

If you have tight or passive players on your left, then you loosen up.

There's something going on in my life, i have no place to tell anyone... but i'm really into blogging so maybe here. So we had this idea.. of a community. My partner, they were travelling together with this new wonderful woman this summer in Rainbow Gathering Estonia, she had our two kids and this new woman has 3 kids. She's amazing this new woman she's like psychedelic energetically and emotionally, from another dimension. So my partner and she, they really liked each other so much, they decided to move together into community. I also meet this new woman, she's just awesome... her children are also carrying a different vibration. What happened, is like this emotional fights between me and my partner, like to a degree where we don't accept each other's plans...

So, they find this option for me, a good friend has also a house and they take me here with a car, i was happy to even get away from this fight or something... it's paranormal feeling energy, lot of fear, and we have no idea where this soul portal actually goes or what it does. She is really loving my partner, but she sometimes has this strong paranormal feeling within all of her energy body, that freaks me out. Usually something happens after that.

So this time, we couldn't influence Estonian government enough with our new community, for things to change, so it ended up I just couldn't do anything. My partner was happy to use the system... I could not. This new woman is really really supportive and helps me with psychedelic world.. i guess they are all still in that community or nearby often..

I'm more than a week or something in this forest house of our friend, taking care of his big dog... started yoga again which is really good for me. Sometimes I cook food and mix it with dog's food and he really loves my cooked food this dog. Our last dog also loved some food i made, i discovered this by accident, i was eating on the floor and he just came and started to eat my food. So I can cook food for dog, and he even asks for it. So i'm getting better in relationship with this dog.

So the interesting thing is, im just gone! BAM! from my family life.
It's like sometimes dimension switches for me or something.

He was playing 73/8 for 26 hands, and i guess we had some action going on.. so on the flop I was sooo sure that I'm ahead of him. So I decide to call his minraise and call down vs bets. When he checks turn, I'm like, could be flushdraw or pair+flushdraw, so he will call making -EV decision River, when I played it, it looked soo stupid from him, now I see that the pot was so big it just didnt matter for him.. didnt put him on Ax+ by the way.

Just never play poker with a Tralfamadorian since they exist in all times at once, and thus know your cards before you do.

So the opponent, he is 21/11 vpip/pfr for 60 hands, there are lot of players with similar stats and even nittier at NL2 6max. I guess he just put me into this category of "too aggressive players" after the squeeze 3bet. The funny thing is, I think it was my first 3bet on that table. Still I know it looks so suspicious to them sometimes. They hate to be outplayed or something. I'm not playing highlevel cashgame where I would 3barrel bluff ever by the way... this is not how i get the money...

I have this feeling now that I beat the limit and I know where to focus on... i'm avoiding the mistake of cbetting always vs fish on Axx and Kxx, some of them noticed once and started to play back.. so now im doing it like when they dont know me on the table, like when im new to them. They just so often click fold on the flop. I'm happy how i'm doing and i have improved my game a little bit. I know it's not big sample size but sometimes you know that you make profit on the table. Like when there's this fish sitting you know he's losing money to you fast, and you know you are making money on that table. So I'm running 17bb/100 for my first 11k hands on NL2 6max and this is what i also remember from the past, the bigger the winrate, the smaller the swings. like when I was crushing fish in FL HU for 8BB/100, it was always graph going up... And of course, even if you're winning, you're always looking for spots to improve.

So I'm happy with the mindset and peaceful state where I currently am.

you expect him to be absolutely crushed on the flop when you see the hole cards, right? QQ vs Q8, dominated and no way he can improve. Plus, you hold the flushdraw and not him so that's also great news. And this dangerous person who could have anything just folded...

haven't been playing at all for a long time now. i feel like it would be an attempt to breakthrough, but at the moment im not willing to make that extreme-looking effort, also because for internet i need to walk 1km... when situation improves, sure i can focus more on the actual game... so far im just not participating....

I remember reading your old blog from time to time years ago. Hopefully you'll get motivated to take another stab at NL again sometime when you're ready.
