NL25 [98s] 2Pair turn check with FD

Preflop call ok imo, although I know a lot of guys will flame this.

Theoretically nothing wrong with flop x/r given the sheer amount of equity we have, but easily possible that the best play vs a fish is just to x/c and hope to improve on turn.

Turn is a check for the reasons you specified.

River is probably another check since our hand is generally to thin to extract value but makes an ok bluff-catcher. Depends exactly how much of a station villain is though. It appears you did actually get called by worse, so it might be ok to bet vs this specific opponent.

Why would defending your BB with 98s vs just about a full stack get flamed by alot of people? Is this something i should definitely be 3betting?

Also by X/R'ing the flop we give ourselves the chance of folding out villains better flush draws and X/C'ing keeps us in the dark about V's hand strength?

It's common advice. Don't flat suited connectors out of the blinds vs 3x open. It's completely untrue in a lot of situations though. So long as we don't play fit-or-fold postflop it's fine.

We have a pair so technically villain has no better flush draws. Also....there is no way a 63/34 is folding a flush draw. Not saying x/r won't be profitable, just saying I expect the expectation of flatting to be higher. Generally speaking we only play our draws aggressively if we have fold-equity. And there is a decent chance we don't have any vs this guy.
