i dont have an answer to the original post, but would like to add another question/comment regarding the top of HU strategy. Recently I watched the final table of the 2008 HU championships, which was Andy Block vs Chris Ferguson. Their preflop strategy was very odd in comparison to what I have heard up until know, the big difference was that they almost never 3 bet each other and also cold called a huge hand range out of position.

My question is why they would be using this strategy as opposed to the looser 3 betting and tighter cold calling out of position.

You cant compare poker at their level with the one on our level. They're just doing things differently. In deail, both of the things you mentioned are in order to take more flops and try to outplay each other.

Moneyscared and Live-Donkeys? ;) I haven't seen this but playing a lot of hands oop doesn't sound very appealing to me.

And on topic: We will see!

That post by our member Skribbles was very useful to me:
Hu Basics

If you know a little bit Italian ,they have HU man PierinoConti .He does HU coachings every week and records video.
Good luck :)

the higher the limits, the more loose i'd like to get aswell, in HU, its very easy to take pots away from people on different board structures, i am in no way a specialist, but it just seems like that to me...
calling oop can be very profitable, but rlly it depends on people you play :/... everything in hu is so marginal.. thats why the 2nd question, why they call so wide oop in hu champs... is cos post flop has such a big veriety of situations...

Ya, I realize that heads up play depends so much on your opponent and strong post flop play. I can see how it would be hard for ps to make a lot of strategy articles about it, because everything is so variable!
