At this point I felt the correct move is to go all-in? Or could I shove at an earlier point?

First hand: there are many higher spades in the deck and any another spade on the board makes their flushes. Here you have to bet big for protection as well as for extracting value. I'm betting full pot ($0.4 here) in such situations.

Second one: I like to push this hand directly preflop. I mean, you have plenty of dead money and should raise the normal amount, so 4BB + 1BB / limper, hence $0.9. But this leaves you pot commited on the flop - if anybody calls, you have to push any flop and it's easier and more profitable to push your hand preflop.

Try to never call preflop with sss on lower limits. SSS is all about betting and raising, so just follow the strategy. Good luck at the tables.
