As I've said, I'm currently reading Mental Game of Poker. Ongoing week has been somewhat hard because I've faced many mental game problems. For that reason I will read Mental Game of Poker for like 15 minutes every day. I will make notes and I'm gonna use the things I learn in practice.
I've played approximately 29k hands this far. My winrate has been somewhere around 4bb/100, but the results are pretty much breakeven since I lost a few buyins at NL50. Again, I'm happy that I have a solid, positive winrate but I could definitely do better.
Before todays first session, I will do some warm-up, which I've never really done. I will make goals for the session and after session I will review how I did. The most important thing I've learned this far by reading Mental Game of Poker is realizing that I am a mental game fish. Just knowing that fact makes me feel a little bit better, and what's even more important is that I want to improve on that area much more that I used to.
First session goals:
- Use the power of position. Position versus these TAG NL25 regulars is just golden. Use that as your advantage as much as possible and readjust as soon as they start to call/4bet your 3bets or doing something weird postflop.
- Mark all the hands you find difficult and are worth talking about.
- Take notes as much as possible.
- Table select. if you're playing with 5 other regulars, look for another table.
