pretty bad river card, but with these odds it's an easy call, right? He could be bluffing with a busted FD or something like AT.

With pot odds that good, most opponents won't bluff anymore, so by checking you isolate yourself against a very strong range, against which you have to fold.
However, by shoving you give your opponent the chance to call with worse.
So your options there are check/fold and shove. (negative freeroll)
