hey,

Yes that's a reason.

maybe i havent described the "problem" exactly before but in general:

If i face strong aggression no matter on which street (pre or postflop) and i dont know much about the opponent and i have to decide if i can continue with the hand or not.
And mostly continuing means investing the whole stack to see if he was bluffing or not :P while running bad i tend to be more resultts orientated which leads to bad decisions later on.

Ok so what exactly are the criteria you use when you don't have enough stats on the opponent? What do you use as alternative information? Or do you just take each situation as it comes and just play it by feel?

This is perfect example of where you can ask some of the strategy coaches and see how they approach the same situation. What they take into consideration or if they look at the situation differently from you. So I would focus on that first. After you know you have a solid of an approach you can have strategically you can see if you still react the same way as before. Then you know it's more of an emotional issue like fear of making mistakes or not being comfortable with not knowing for example.

Keep up the good work! :)

Ok so looking at it now. Do you have any ideas on how to start working on this actively? Have you tried anything that sometimes works for you in those situations?

hey i have watched 3 of your videos (Finding your a-game) in the past 2 days and i try to implement those things.
not sure why i never had the idea to watch some psychological videos on pokertrategy ;) but it seems to help.

ive already written the "tilt-" + "Strategy-List" for my sessions and atleast tried to relax a bit before starting to play ;)

well ...

1) *edit* ah misread your question ;)
Well i have problems with motivation and productivity, i could play like 3x more but too often i am just wasting time especially when running bad.

2) Session reviews on my own and posting all hands in the hand discussion section where this situation happened or anything i was not sure about.

3) Discussing hands works a bit but on the tables it feels different ... still thinking about previous MAYBE bad folds while zooming/playing which leads to tilt and lacking in concentration .... which then leads to obvious bad play in the next hundreds of hands because iam not focussed enough on current situations :f_p: and after the session i repeat step 2)

Interesting. A lot of this seems to be related to psychology and living in the present moment, and Erik will help you out with that :).

Follow-up questions:

1) How do you work on getting consistent motivation? What motivates you?
2) When do you usually get demotivated?
3) How do you re-motivate yourself?

Do you struggle with not being able to stop thinking about previous hands? is it mostly when you folded?

hey,

1) thats a really good question ... i guess it is just the money and that iam able to study and play poker without having to do a stupid part time job :P

2) usually everytime iam running bad, it feels like a waste of time then which is kindly stupid to have such a feeling.

3) hmm the "motivation" comes from the pressure to have to grind and make money or after a break of several days

iam not used to talking about myself that much thaths why it takes some time til my answer :P thanks for the questions.

well it leaves me with a bad feeling (negative thoughts) that i get rushed over by bluffs but as said i have watched many of your videos and meditation and setting session goals is the way i can get over it :)

Before this bootcamp i was like "oh damn only 200 hands yet" and i was checking my pokertracker every 5minutes while playing ;) since as a general goal i ve set 1000 hands before doing a break.

After your videos i have played 1200 hands without looking once at pokertracker + alot less tilt thoughts.

Hey, that's ok I can understand that it feels weird :).

With running bad/result orientation, Erik will help.

With motivation, I would strongly suggest going through the exercises in this video (don't worry, you don't need to post the questions to the answers here).

I think it will help you a lot when you don't have just the money as a motivator, and we can move on from there :).

Sounds great! Keep up the good work :)

How often do you check your results when you play?
How do you usually react or deal with those negative thoughts that you are getting run over?

hm i check them too often .. and i usually stop playing when i feel tilted. But then after the break it is hard to "restart" with a fresh-not tilted mind ;)

Is there a need for you to check results? Whats your BR situation like for 50NL zoom?
